ROSS'S POV
Is it wrong to like two girls at the same time? Well one more than another. One who had a boyfriend while dating the other? Why don't things go the way you want them too? Do things happen for a reason? What's the reason I don't get all these just things people say but I do understand what it's like to really like someone. Maia's taken my heart and ripped it apart. I knew I wouldn't get a chance with her at all so why am I here feeling sorry for myself? Ross stop!! Maddie. Maddie! Maddie!! This is your girl so think about her Ross. Maddie's my girl now so that's who I should be thinking about not Maia she's just my friend my best friend. Only my best friend.
"Ross what's wrong" Maddie says turning my head
"Oh just thinking about stuff" I say
"About what?" She asks following me to the pool
"Uhm summer! Here's the pool there's a small changing room at the corner I'm going to go put my shorts on." I say changing the subject. I show her the room and then go back to my room to put on my pink shorts. I notice Maia and Trent hugging in her room and laughing. They look very happy. Well I guess good for Maia. I quickly run downstairs and find Rydel and her friend Hudson in the pool too.
"Ross have you met Hudson?" Rydel stops me
"I don't think so what's up" I shake his hand
"What's up man" Hudson smiles
"Maia's coming in a bit so keep the door open I'll be back in going to change" Rydel left and I decided to talk to Hudson
"So you gonna swim?" I ask him
"Yeah totally you guys got a pretty cool pool" he says as Maddie comes with her light pink bikini.
"You ready Ross?" She says
"Yeah come on" I hold her hand and take her to the other side of the pool to sit
"I like your shorts" she teases
"I like your bikini" I wink
"I'm going to push you in the pool watch" she laughs
"Oh really is that true because I can pick you up and throw you right now" I grab her
"Ross!!!" She laughs "stop no"
I hold her tight and we both jump into the pool and sink until we float back up.
I continue to laugh until she playful pushes me.
"Oh come on it was fun" I say.
"Whatever Ross" Maddie swims.
About half an hour later we get out and start the barbecue. Maia and Trent finally show up and they bring in cut up fruit in a bowl.
"Hey guys!" They say
"Maia!!" Rydel screams
"Delly!!"
Maia screams back.
"Rossy!!" I scream trying to play along.
"Get out of here Ross" Rydel pushes me from their hug.
"I see how it is you're trying to steal my best friend huh" I say going back to cook the patties.
"Excuse me since when are you two best friends?" Rydel asks us crossing her arms
We stare at each other and smile.
"Since ever" maia says. "Just kidding Delly you're my best friend"
"Wow maia" I act insulted.
"Do you need help with the cooking bro?" Trent comes in
"Yeah sure I need to go get stuff form the kitchen" I go back and get buns and etc. I see maia come back from the bathroom slowly walking.
"You're not okay yet?" I said.
"Not yet.. Hey Trent can you help me a bit sorry" she said
"Here I'll help you" I offer my help but she didn't want me too
"It's okay ross please" I know she doesn't want people to find out what happen between us considering she has a boyfriend now.
Trent picks her up and places her on a chair. I could've been the one doing that.
After we ate we go back to swimming. Maia takes off her light dress and I see her wearing a black bikini. She sits in the chair tanning like a model from those magazines letting the sun shine on them. She looks so beautiful I keep staring at her not caring what others might say.
As I'm daydreaming I get hit by a beachball.
I turn and find Maddie running away.
"I'm getting you Mad!" I chase her down.
MAIA'S POV
Trent Hudson Rydel and I talk for like 2 hours until the guys decide they have to go.
"Bye Maia" Trent says hugging me
"Bye Trent" I say
"Talk to you tomorrow" he winks
"Bye Rydel" Hudson hugs her
"Bye Maia" Hudson waves
"Bye Hudson" I smile
After we go walk them outside we come back to the pool side and sit and watch the sunset.
"Maia you should totally sleep over!" Rydel insisted
"But i don't know if I'm aloud" I said
"You live next door! Come on it'll be a blast" she said begging
"Fine only because you're Delly" I said
"So do you still like Ross?" She asked
I thought for a moment. I do like him it's just I don't know how to feel about him. I do like Trent that's for sure. He's been so nice and even asked me out.
"No not anymore I like Trent.
Oh my goodness did you see him shirtless today" I said remembering
"Did you see Hudson do that flip in the pool and the way he moved his hair" Rydel drooled
"These guys are so dreamy I'm surprised they even talked to us" I laugh
"Maia don't be surprised we are hot looking teenagers" Rydel said doing her nails
I kept laughing and then Maddie came into the room.
Rydel looked at me and then I turned to Maddie.
"Sorry for interrupting but I'm going to head home Maia" she said
"Okay well I'll go there later" I smiled
As soon as she left Rydel looked confused
"You better stay Maia I have so much to tell you and I don't feel like telling you any other day" she said
"I'm not I didn't want to tell her I was staying" I said
After another couple of hours Rydel fell fast asleep while we watched The Notebook. She couldn't stop crying. So I had to pat her. I tried not to laugh when she would burst to tears.
Dammit!! I left my dress outside! Now I'm going to have to go get it in my bathing suit. I am praying that no one will see me. I had Rydels shirt but that's it. Oh my what if one of Rydels brother see me! Or her parents!!
I slowly creaked the door open and tip toed downstairs quietly. As soon as I came downstairs I walked over to the outside doors and opened them really slow. I don't want anyone seeing me. Finally I can see my dress in the beach chair. I run to it and grab it. I walk back to the door and then I feel someone grab me from behind.
I jump and turn to see who it is.
"Ross!! You scared me to death" I said panting
"Jeez Maia it was a prank" he laughs
I back up and get so embarrassed that I'm in a shirt and a bikini bottom.
"Here follow me" he says pulling my hand to the swinging chair he has.
"It's 12 in the night lets watch the bright stars" he says
"It's dark out here Ross maybe we should go back in" I say
"Oh come on Maia" he begs
"Okay but we don't fit in this sphere chair it's just for one person" I say looking at the swing.
"Yeah we can you just got to sit or lay on top of me" he says
Is he trying to get me to sit on him?
"Ross I can't sit on top of you what if someone sees us they are going to think there's something happening" I said putting my hair in a messy bun.
"But there's nothing happening your just going to sit on me what's the big deal?" He asks
"Ross I'll just go back up sorry" I said and I run it back upstairs
When I get back Rydel isn't sleeping on her bed.
