Before I Leave You

Ross's POV

What does Charles mean by 'you guys will have to move to New York to get signed'? This is my senior year! My last year of school and being able to get to spend it with Maia. Now I'm being told I have to move away from her and leave her alone to be 3,000 miles away from home. This is just a decision that can change my life with both good and bad. The good would be to being famous and making my dream come true. But I want to experience my senior year with Maia by my side. Getting to do "study sessions" or being that cute couple and getting to graduate the same day as her and throw our caps up in the air and think about all our great memories we went through. I keep looking at Maia and smiling. I look over at Riker whos keep on telling me what I'm going to say to Maia. It's either I do or I don't go. I make up my mind.

"Maia can we step outside for a minute" I get up and lead her to the porch.
"Look Ross I know what you're hear to tell me. I want you to go. I want you to go for your dreams I don't want to be the one stopping you from doing it okay so do me and your whole band a favor and go okay I'll be fine I still have Jess and Sabrina and others to hang around with okay." She looks at me and brings my face closer to hers and we kiss slowly. The breeze hits in and crashes my face. It felt magical. I pull her hair back hold her hands.

"School starts tomorrow for you" I say
"Don't remind me" she giggles
"I had fun this summer aussie and even though I'm leaving tomorrow I'm face timing you everyday so you won't be getting rid of this" I chuckle
"Aw man" she jokes "but you better and bring me one of those New York key chains" she smiles
"I'll bring you a lot and I'll send you stuff too" I said hugging her

Rydel and Maia spent half the day together and since I wasn't going to see Maia I decided to get in the middle of their discussion. They say on the couch talking about celebrities I think. I got on the couch and put my head on Maia's lap so she instantly played around with it.
"Maia I'm going to miss you honestly you're the best friend everyone wishes they had" Rydel gets up and hugs Maia
"Don't squish me" I said
"Aw Del I love you! You better face time me" Maia said pulling back the hug
"I already called face timing you all day when I'm not working" I said
"She'll hang up on you because she'll want to see me instead" Rydel pushed me
"Don't fight I'll face time both of you to what's going on with my life" Maia leaned on my chest

Later in the afternoon Maia took me to the forest side of the beach. She said she wouldn't tell me where we were going until we got there. We walked some more and I found a bench and lights all around the area.

"Woah I've never seen this" I admired the lights
"I know not many people do its for locals only" she got my hand and led me to the bench.
"I'm going to really miss you Maia Mitchell" I grab her from her waist and pull her closer to my lips.
It feels like movie moment when you're about to kiss but it just happens slowly and the camera is just recording around you.

"I'm going to miss you too Ross Shor Lynch" she sits on my lap.
"Remember I promised you I would always be there for you"
"Yeah" she shakes her head
"Well it's true and if you ever need anything you know you can call me. I don't care if I'm in the middle of recording, I'll stop and take hours talking to you" I smile
"You're so sweet. Shor I want you to know that even though we are going to be thousands of miles away I will still be thinking of you only and there's no one else who Id rather be with because you're the only one who makes me feel like I've got butterflies inside my stomach" I see her begin to blush
"I won't be with anyone except you aussie" I squeeze her and give her small kisses on her cheek.
"I've got something for you look" she pulls out something from her pocket
"I want you to have this. It was my grandpas. He gave it to me before he passed away" she hands me a necklace
"Maia I can't take this it was your gra.."
"Please it looks cool on you" she laughs
"Thanks aussie" I put it on and get up.
"You've got school tomorrow lets go" I pull her
"Fine let me get senior year over with so that I can go to college" she shrugged
"You never told me where you were applying too" I questioned
"Well if I do really good at my audition in Australia at NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DRAMATIC ART then" I stopped her
"Australia!? Wow that's that's" I scratched my head
"Far?" She said
"Yeah" I said back
"Well it's hard to get there but or else I might apply to the University of Washington in Seattle or uhm I don't know those are my top two" she says
"Well good luck to you I hope you can make it to those great schools. I know you'll do amazing" I put my arm around her
"Thank you Shor" she smiled

When we got home I began to pack things I might need for New York. Maia started getting her stuff ready for tomorrow but when she finished she came up to help me pack.

"Maia do you want to sleep here tonight" I asked as she walked towards her room
She turned her head and shook nodded yes.

"Let me go brush my teeth" she went downstairs and brushed her teeth while I waited.
She came back and closed the door.
I turned the lights off and she slept next to me. I cuddled with her and I placed my lips onto hers.

"Goodnight" she whispered
"Goodnight aussie chick" I said

The next day I drove Maia and Ryland to see and came back home to do last minute packing. My mom picked them up early so that they could come say bye to us before we left. We were going to leave around 2 in the big van we had. Maia was able to fit so I would bring her along. I saw them drive up the driveway and from the window I saw Maia and she didn't have that beautiful smile on her face. Should I leave her or nor ?
