MAIA'S POV

He wrote the song about me this whole time while I kept thinking it was for Maddie.

"It was never for Maddie was it?" I looked up at him
"Nope you told me to sing it to the special girl I was writing the song for so that's why I brought my guitar to sing it for you" Ross smiled while I tried not to have an aw moment

Later in the night we were both in bed with the lights turned off. We were talking about how we were going to leave at different times tomorrow. It was going to be Monday tomorrow so Ross would leave early then I would go after so there wouldn't be suspicion. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

The next day Ross woke up early and when I woke up he was already gone. He left me a note on the table so I opened it.

'Maia I already paid the bill and don't try to pay me back. I left around 6 in the morning so when you wake up I should be home already. See you later ;) -Ross'

I started to pack and set everything in the back of my VW. I closed the door of the rented room and went out. I started to drive back home. Back to reality. About an hour of listening to indie music I drove into the driveway of my house. I got my bag and opened the front door. I walked in and my parents looked at me. They weren't happy. I tried to smile but they told me to have a seat.

"Who let you have the car?" My dad said
"No one" I said
"We were worried sick Maia!" My mom kept scolding me and talked about how she thought I ran away. I kept nodding but really I didn't really care I just kept thinking of Ross.

"Maia are you listening to your mother?" My dad said
I got out of my daydream "yes dad"
"Don't leave without permission Maia you had me worried sick" my mom hugged me and let me go upstairs

"Maia wait get back here" my dad stood
"Yes?" I asked
"You're grounded until school starts" my eyes opened widely
"What?! Wow great way to ruin my summer even more then again you guys give less shit about me so whatever!" I ran back to my room and locked it
"Who said we don't care about you!!" My mom yelled

School starts on August 20th, 2 days after my birthday. So I'm going to grounded on my birthday, great!

I started to get really bored so I texted Rydel.

Me- Delly what's up
Del- it's about time you text me 👐
Me- sorry just came back from a trip I took wyd
Del- about to go to your house and have a talk with you
Me- Am I in trouble? 😂
Del- not really 😂💕
Me- okay hurry before my parents say no
Del- On my way!

Knock knock..

She's here!!!

"Delly!!!" I jumped
"Maia!!" She hugged me
"How was your trip" she winked
"It was good" I smiled and closed the door

"I know you were with Ross I knew from the start he was going out to find you Maia" Rydel knew everything
"Wow I should've known but it was good" I wasn't going to tell her about me and Ross yet.
"Are you grounded?" Rydel asked
"Yup" I said sitting on the bed
"Seems like it but come on tell me more Ross won't give me any details" Rydel laughed
"There's nothing too say really we just hung out.." I paused for a bit and suddenly remembered
"GUESS WHAT!!" I yelled
"Woah Maia they will here us" Rydel said
"Okay well I shouldn't of thought of this because now I'm mad again but Trent is a jerk he cheated on me with Tracy the one who has blondish hair remember her" I jumped up
"No one!! With her?! Where's my Phone I'm going to tell Hudson what a jerk next time I see him in going to make him look like the biggest douche ever" Rydel got her phone
"Rydel! Rydel! It's okay I'm over it the past few days I've gotten over it and I've become more peaceful I guess" I thought about it and I have become more peaceful thanks to Ross. He's helped me in a way.
"More peaceful what did my brother do to you?!" Rydel gave me a confused but funny look
"Oh no Rydel!" I laughed "I wouldn't do that"
"Okay good!" She dialed Hudson's number
"TRENT IS THE BIGGEST DOUCHE!!" Rydel yelled at Hudson

She put him on speaker so I could hear

Hudson- "woah you're talking about my friend here why is he a douche?"
Del- "he cheated on Maia look tell him to calm down and I don't want you taking him to my house or near me or Maia or I will get my brothers to beat him up understood!" I couldn't help but laugh
Hudson- "Rydel calm down I'll tell him"
Rydel looked at me and gave me a "is he stupid" look
Del- "I won't calm down bye!" She hung up

"Rydel it's okay I don't care" I laughed
"No one messes with my best friend" she stood up "let's go get frozen yogurt!" She pulled me
"I'm grounded remember" I shrugged
"You're talking to your moms favorite daughters friend" she smirked and pulled me downstairs

We came across my mom.

"Hello Mrs. Mitchell how you've been" Rydel was trying to get her to be in a good mood to let me go
"Great thank you" my mom said to Rydel
"Mrs. Mitchell do you mind if I have Maia come over so she could help me with cake I'm decorating it's really important" she pleases
"Okay sure but she has to come early" my mom agreed and then we went outside

"Told you she likes me" Rydel flicked her hair
"Well I need you at my house more often" I said hugging her

We walked inside her house and I came after Ross. He winked and smiled at me when Rydel turned.

"Hey aussie!" He waved
"Hi Lynch" I giggled
"Well you guys seem close" Rydel suspected
"Yes we're buddies! Right Maia" ross pulled me into a hug
