"Your Imperial Highness!"

Napalingon kaagad si Loki kay Iris na mabilis na lumabas sa palasyo para salubungin siya.

"Iris!"

Iris carefully snatched Loki from Fred's arms, the personal knight of the Empress, hugging Loki tightly.

"Are you alright, Your Highness? Maayos na ba ang pakiramdam mo? Are you feeling pain anywhere? Please answer me." Natataranta nitong wika.

"I'm fine, Iris. I'm sorry for making you worry." Loki hugged his arms around Iris' neck.

He felt guilty for making Iris worry just because of his stupidity and childish antics.

"Monet, please take the Imperial Prince back to his room. He still needs to rest."

The said maid got Loki from Iris' arms as she walked inside the palace. Pinanood sila ni Iris papasok sa Monice Palace at nang mawala sila sa paningin niya, her worried face became blank as she looked at Fred who's blankly looking at her, his everyday expression.

Fred, the personal knight of Her Imperial Majesty who also earned the nickname shadow. He's someone who works in the shadow, an assassin who protects and carries the orders of the Empress.

"So, tell me what happened." Iris isn't very nice right now.

Halos tumalon ang puso niya nang makitang wala ang prinsipeng inaalagaan niya sa kwarto nito tapos bigla-bigla na lamang may kasulatan siyang natanggap galing sa palasyo ng Empress, from the Chancellor herself.

"You already read what happened in the letter made by Her Imperial Grace, why bother?" Fred blankly stared at her.

Nainis naman siya. She grabbed a pot before she threw it in his direction. He effortlessly dodged which made her so furious.

"Her Imperial Majesty wanted me to inform you that she'll have tea time with the youngest prince tomorrow afternoon."

Iris froze. "Huh?"

Did she hear it right? Her Majesty, the Empress? Tea with the Third Imperial Prince? Tomorrow?

"So, that's your problem?" Ares scoffed. "What's the big deal of a mother having tea time with her son?"

Iris glared at him.

Bakit nga ba nandito siya?

Ever since Loki grew fond of him, he always barges in the youngest prince's palace, acting like he's the owner. The Second Imperial Prince really has no manners. And he's also testing Iris' patience.

"The one visiting us isn't just a mother, Your Imperial Highness." Iris smiled despite the annoyance she's feeling, gritting her teeth. "It's the Empress Sigyn of our empire. Hindi siya basta-basta."

Napahawak pa siya sa ulo niya. Ni hindi pa niya nasasabi kay Loki ang balita.

"And?"

Oh, how Iris badly wants to strangle him to death right now!

Iris smiled again. "Your Highness, she's the Empress of our empire. This is the very first time she'll visit us lowly creatures who're taking care of this palace. Of course, this is a big deal."

Nauubusan na siya ng pasensiya.

"Just prepare snacks that Loki likes." He shrugged it off like it was nothing!

Napabuntong hininga na lamang si Iris. Ano pa ba ang aasahan niya sa ikalawang prinsipe?

She bowed, taking her leave as she went straight to Loki's room. She knocked, entering when he didn't answer. She was greeted with Loki sleeping on his bed since it's his afternoon nap time.

She slowly walked towards his snoring body, careful not to wake him up. Napunta ang atensyon niya sa suot na kwintas ni Loki. She carefully held it in her palms, stroking the gem lightly.

Loki's mother is finally going to visit him. Alam ni Iris na matutuwa siya kapag nalaman niya ang tungkol dito. If only he was here to witness it all.

Ilang minuto niyang tinitigan ang hawak na kwintas bago niya iyon binitawan saka lumabas para ihanda ang mga ingredients sa gagawin niyang snacks for tomorrow.

She'll be really busy.

It's already time for tea time.

"I'm sorry for the sudden news, Your Imperial Highness." Iris fixes Loki's hair while he's sitting in front of a small table with many snacks. "The Empress will be here soon."

Napatingin si Loki kay Iris at nakita niya ang nakangiti nitong mukha. She looks happier than usual. Was she this happy because the empress is visiting him? Kinabahan tuloy siya.

What if he makes a mistake and get himself killed? Paano na si Iris? What should he do to please his mother? Should he act cute? Sa gano'ng paraan niya na-tame ang mga kapatid niya. Will it work with the tyrant though? Hindi niya alam! He's panicking inside.

Nabalik siya sa ulirat nang lumuhod si Iris sa harapan niya.

"You must be happy right now, Your Highness." Her gaze softened. "You might be hearing some rumors about your mother but she's a kind woman. Aside from that, she's also busy serving and ruling a big empire like ours. Please understand her, Your Highness."

"Are you happy right now, Iris?"

Nagulat si Iris sa biglaang tanong ng kaniyang alaga. She looked at him and when she saw his blank expression, she felt shiver run in her spine.

It was the exact copy of the Empress' expression along with the first prince of their empire!

He may be bright and kind but in his veins runs the blood of an Aileth Morana. Aside from that, there's also his blood running in this little kid's veins. How can she forget such a thing?

"I am, Your Imperial Highness." She doesn't want to lie. "How about you, my prince?"

Loki stared at her. Her face looks so soft. Napangiti na lamang siya. "I am."

He might be denying it but he really is happy kahit na ilang beses niyang sabihin na mas gusto niyang inabandona siya ng ina niya. Seeing his mother's face the other day, he felt something warm stir inside of him.

"Thank you for everything, Iris."

"I will do anything for you, Your Imperial Highness."

Loki can't help but to stare as a thought runs inside his mind.

Nasa novel din kaya si Iris? If she is, what happened to her inside the book?

"Miss Iris, nandito na siya."

Napatingin sila kay Monet na mahinang tinawag ang atensyon ni Iris. The woman who was called stood up, patting Loki's head lightly to avoid messing his hair.

"Empress Aileth Morana di Silviandesia has arrived."

Every maids that work in Monice Palace lines up, bowing at the woman who walked gracefully with such confidence. Nagulat pa si Loki dahil imbes na babaeng naka-gown ang nakita niya, she's wearing an emperor suit instead.

In Aileth Empire, it's a disgrace for women to wear men's clothing kaya walang men's clothing for women. Despite that, hindi nila masita ang Empress because she's the ruler. Who are they to say anything against her? Wala silang ibang magagawa kundi lunukin ang lahat ng mura nila.

"Welcome, Your Imperial Majesty." Iris bowed, lifting her skirt a bit.

Napanganga naman sa gulat si Loki dahil sa nakita

Iris is just like a noblewoman! It was a perfect bow that only a noblewoman was taught!

Perhaps, was Iris a noblewoman before she became his nanny? Now that he thinks about it, Iris is very mysterious. Wala siyang alam tungkol sa kaniya, ni kahit isa ay wala. Who is she, really?

Sigyn waved her off, sitting in front of Loki after her chair was pulled by Fred to give space for her to sit. "Leave."

Everyone froze in her orders. Maging si Loki ay natigilan.

He's scared. They all are. This is the tyrant, after all! Who wouldn't be scared?

"Didn't you hear my order? I said leave."
