"Damn it!"

Ares growled slowly as he took a knee. He's disarmed by his mother who's looking down on him.

He gritted his teeth in annoyance.

"Stop holding back, you pretty bitch!" He screamed on the top of his lungs, sending a high kick to his mother who jumped back to avoid it.

He ran around her, grabbing the sword of one of his knights that started to escort him today. He charged towards his mother who blinked in shock, raising her sword to clash it with his new ones that he stole.

"How am I gonna improve if you don't give me your all?!" He's angry, not because of her looking down on his ability but because he can't improve if she continues her ways.

"If I do, you'll die." Sigyn blankly answered.

"An enemy won't give me any mercy and won't hold back to me." He growled, pushing his blade against hers that made her jump back.

Sigyn stared at her son's determination. She sighed, iniikot at pinaglalaruan ang hawak na espada before running towards him.

His eyes widened when he just felt his mother's presence behind him. He immediately jumped sideways to avoid her attack.

He stared at the ground kung saan tumama ang espada ng ina. It has a huge crack in it. If he didn't move in time, he's as good as dead.

He smirked, feeling excitement all over his body. This is what he wants, a fight for death.

He clashed his blade with hers when he felt her presence beside him. Because of their strong force, their blades broke but that didn't stop them with their duel.

Namangha si Loki ng halos hindi na niya masundan ang laban ng ina at kapatid. They're too fast for his eyes!

"Where are they?" The only thing he can see are their traces! That's how fast they are.

Soon enough, they saw the two of them when they stopped to breathe.

Hera's mouth dropped when she noticed that Sigyn has a small scratch on her arm, her sleeve is slightly torn because of it. Ares' body is full of scratches and bruises, some even bleeding, his clothes are literally torn apart.

That doesn't change the fact that he managed to cut their mother.

Even if it is small, it's already a big achievement!

Hades smiled softly as he watched his younger brother huffed, breathing hardly because of tiredness. He also noticed how Sigyn sighed heavily. Kitang-kita niya kung paano tumaas at bumaba ang dibdib nito dahil sa pagod.

A proud brotherly smile is plastered on his lips.

Even he wasn't able to do that when he and their mom were sparring. Out of the brothers who trained with their mother, Ares is the first one to put a scratch on her and made her feel tired.

"Damn it!" Ares angrily punched his thighs dahil ayaw na nitong gumalaw sa sobrang pagod.

"We're done here." Sigyn took off her ponytail, letting her hair fall past her shoulders.

Ares' eyes widened. "No!"

Sineseryoso na siya ng ina, he can't let this end here. Baka hindi na 'to ulit mangyari sa susunod.

"Don't worry, I'll fight you seriously next time too. Go and heal." She turned her back towards him, walking out of the training grounds.

Loki stared at her retreating figure before immediately running towards the second eldest along with Hera.

"Kuya!" He called for him kaya napalingon ito sa kaniya.

"You're really pathetic. You can't win against her!" Hera frowned, immediately scolding her brother. "Do you really have to push yourself so hard?"

"If I don't..." He coughed making the two youngest to stare at him in horror, worriedly tending to him. He stared at the two who's currently panicking.

If he doesn't try to take down their own mother... How will he protect his siblings against a much more powerful opponent?

Out of them all, he's the strongest when it comes to strength. Hades may be strong but not that strong.

Besides, Hades is being pressured by the nobles to immediately inherit the throne because they're against their mother. He's set to lead and protect the empire.

So, he wanted to protect the family instead.

Hades will protect the empire while Ares will protect the Imperial Family.

Ares wants to protect his home. Not the palace grounds, but the people who he treasures the most.

His safest place.

He felt his body stagger. He was about to fall when someone caught him from behind.

He looked up and saw Hades' cold gaze.

"Hey, asshole." He greeted him, a small smirk plastered on his lips, purple jewel-like eyes looking tired.

"That's not how you greet your older brother." Hades blankly answered.

Ares only chuckled, coughing again which caused panic towards the younger ones.

Hera grabbed his arm, making him wince. "Let me see your wounds! You dumb asshole."

"You're dumber than me though." Ares retorted back, resting his back on his older brother's body.

"Shut it!" Hera shouted, having a hard time to stop her tears from flowing.

She raised her hand and put it on his body before her palm started to glow, slowly healing his wounds. Good thing she learned and focused on healing magic. She knows how reckless her second brother can be.

Loki held Ares' hand, squeezing it lightly to comfort him. He's trying his best not to cry after seeing all his brother's bruises. His mom is really scary and strong.

"Sorry for giving you a burden when it should be me who's shouldering this." Hades mumbled near his ears.

"Huh?" Ares gave him an unamused look. "Just do your job and I do mine. I was the one who wanted to do this anyway." He sighed.

"I'll..." He gulped. "I'm always here behind you to support you so do your best, you smartypants."

Hades hummed as an answer.

"I will."

"Here, Your Imperial Majesty."

Iris, who's talking to Fred at the entrance of the training ground, gave Sigyn a towel when she saw her.

Iris looked behind the Empress and saw the siblings. A small smile plastered on her lips.

Sigyn accepted it before lightly wiping the blood from her bruise that Ares' gave her.

"He really got his determination to take you down from his father."

Iris stared at Ares who's now scolding Hera for being too rough on him. He soon shut up when both youngest jumped towards him. Even Hades fell to the ground with all of them.

"It's just that, his father never really won against you."

Sigyn continued what she was doing, not saying anything, but both Fred and Iris knew that she's listening. They know that she's agreeing on whatever Iris has said.

"But I think the Second Imperial Prince has a chance to take you down. He's really strong." Iris smiled softly. "He got both of yours and his father's strength."

"I agree." Fred finally said a word.

"What are you talking about? Him, taking me down?" Sigyn gave Iris the towel back.

Tinupi naman iyon ni Iris nang maayos, waiting for Sigyn's next words that shocked not just her but also Fred who never really shows emotions.

"He already surpassed me though?"
