"Your Imperial Majesty."

Sigyn looked up from her paper works when she heard Fred's voice from the other side of her office door.

"Come in." She said.

The said knight opened the door, coming inside as he closed the door behind him.

"The Third Imperial Prince has settled down in the Serian Palace." He announced as he bowed his head at his Empress.

Serian Palace is the palace between the Empress' palace, Friia Palace where Sigyn lives, and the main palace, where Sigyn works. The Empress decided to let Loki use that palace instead of the Monice Palace as the said palace already became a place of bloodshed after what she did to Loki's maids na hindi pa rin alam ni Loki hanggang ngayon.

"That's good." She nodded her head. "I'll assign maids there soon, but for now, Iris will have to do everything."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Fred can't helped but pity Iris dahil sa dami ng trabaho nito.

"It seems like this is your last task from me." Sigyn stared at her so-called shadow, which is the knight she's talking to right now. "Take care of that cat."

"He's not a cat, Your Imperial Majesty." Fred deadpanned.

Fred is now assigned to become Loki's Personal Knight kung kaya't siya ang makakasama nila Loki at Iris sa palasyong nilipatan ng bunsong prinsipe.

"About the task you gave me..."

He was talking about the time when assassins trespassed in the palace grounds while Sigyn and the others left to go to the ruined city of Malwis.

"The assassins are also after the prisoners. Kaya lang hindi ako sigurado kung kanino sa kanila as they tried to free both of them."

Fred was tasked to guard the prisoners that time kung kaya't hindi niya natulungan sila Iris sa pagprotekta ng palasyo at kay Loki. Well, his help there isn't needed anyways as he trusts the nannies' capabilities and skills. Hindi sila magiging nannies ng Imperial Siblings if they weren't acknowledged by the Empress herself.

"Either the culprit of Loki's poisoning are really the two of them, or..." Sigyn closed her eyes calmly. "They're also planning to free the other one to kill her. What do you think?"

Fred stared at the Empress.

"Do I really have to answer that?" Hindi niya mapigilang itanong iyon dahil alam niyang alam na ng Empress kung sino talaga sa kanila ang may pakana sa paglason sa batang prinsipe.

The Empress hummed. "The first born cat's here." She said, a knock from the door following after.

"Mother?" Hades popped his head inside the ruler's office.

"Fred, you're dismissed."

Sigyn opened her eyes, waving her hand at Fred who bowed his head at the Empress, leaving the office after he paid his respect to the empire's Crown Prince.

"Ares has filled me in on what happened to them nang maihiwalay sila sa 'tin." Hades said after Fred had closed the door, leaving the room. "Something caught my attention and curiosity."

"And that is?" Tumaas ang kilay ni Sigyn.

"Hera lost her magic for a little while. It's ancient magic, isn't it?" Seryosong wika ni Hades.

"Perhaps..." Sigyn met Hades' gaze. "Blood magic?"

"That's what Hera said to Ares nang magkausap sila bago tayo makauwi rito sa palasyo." Hades hummed. "The leader of that group who attacked Ares and Hera said it himself daw. He managed to take a small portion of Hera's blood, thus, controlling Hera's magic."

"It's really ancient magic. But... How did he manage to learn that? Ancient magic is a lost magic that was sealed off because of how powerful and dangerous it is. I only knew three people who could pull it off."

"And those are?" Hindi mapigilang hindi ma-curious ni Hades.

"The First Mage of the Magic Tower." Sigyn raised her pinky finger. "The Second Mage of the Magic Tower, my eldest sister, Lilith." She raised her ring finger before she raised her middle finger. "And the first Chancellor of the empire, Aileth Morana di Eiko."

"Eiko..." Hades mumbled. "It was said that the first Chancellor is the reason why the first Emperor's rule is considered the golden era of our empire."

He blinked.

"To think that she actually mastered the forbidden magic..."

"That information is only enclosed to people who sat on the throne." Sigyn said nonchalantly.

Ayos lang na malaman ito ni Hades dahil siya naman ang tagapagmana niya.

"Then... Was it the First Mage of the Magic Tower who was behind the attack?" Hades asked.

"That's impossible. The First Mage of the Magic Tower is dead. I doubt she will teach that magic to others." Iling ni Sigyn.

Kumunot ang noo ni Hades sa narinig. "You sound like you knew who the First Mage is."

"Of course, I knew." Kalmadong sagot ni Sigyn sa panganay na anak.

"She is Ate Lilith's mother."

Nagulantang si Hades sa nalaman while his mother remained unbothered from all the information she's sharing to the First Imperial Prince.

"The First Mage... Is Tita Lilith's mother? That means that the First Mage is Lady Evangeline. Then, does that mean that she became the former Emperor's concubine?"

"Bakit mo pa 'yan tinatanong sa 'kin eh naturo naman na sa inyo ang family tree natin by your Tita Eunice?" Sigyn rolled her eyes. Her son is being too slow right now.

Hades glared at his mother. "Mother, Tita Eunice only told us who Tita Lilith's mother but she never told us that Lady Evangeline is the First Mage of the Magic Tower."

"Ahhh..." Was only Sigyn's response.

"The mages of the Magic Tower are known to be powerful enough to destroy a continent. Why would she settle down as that disgusting man's concubine?" 'Yon ang pinagtataka ni Hades.

"The mages of the Magic Tower offer their promise to the ruler."

A promise is a bind between the mage and the ruler of an empire.

"Once a promise is made, the ruler now hold's the mage's heart. If the mage betrayed the ruler, the ruler can crush the mage's heart kahit na gaano sila kalayo sa isa't isa." Sigyn explained. "That's why she has no other choice but to become that animal's concubine. She was forced to be one."

"I see..." Hades sighed. "Must have been hard for her."

Sigyn looked at her hands that were placed on her lap. She stared at it as an unknown emotion was drawn in her eyes, probably a mixture of sadness, disappointment and guilt. Hades can't point out what it really is.

"Yes, it must have been really hard for her..."

"Hmm?" Fred hummed after he arrived at the youngest Imperial Prince's new palace.

He looked at Iris who's staring at Loki with a surprise expression.

Iris blinked. "I-I'm sorry, Your Imperial Highness... Did I hear you right?" Hindi siya makapaniwala sa narinig.

Loki stared back at his nanny. The look of determination, seriousness, and resolute present in his eyes and face. Sa tingin pa lang niya, alam nang wala nang makakapagpabago sa desisyon niya.

"You heard me." His lips formed into a small smile as he uttered his next words.

"Train me how to use a gun properly."
