I stretched my arms around the bed I had once shared with Luca, looking for him. But he was nowhere to be found, after spending so much time with him, in this very same bed, I had realized just how lonely this big bed could feel. I wasn't used to not having his whole body suffocating me, being wrapped around me, today was a first. Normally each of our mornings consisted of him waking me with kisses and hugs, that lasted until we had to be separated from each other. He was just a room away, a room away and I had already missed him, he wasn't the one that was whipped, it sounded like it was me. I would never admit that to him, ever.
I wrapped a blanket around my cold shoulders, picking up the towel he had left on the ground from last night, I must've just not noticed it. I opened the bedroom door, creeping towards the media room. And there they were, both fast asleep on the carpet with blankets towered over them. It looked like a failed blanket fort.
The TV was still echoing last week's practice the boys had famed over last night. I grabbed the remote and switched the power off, hating the cheers that sounded from the TV.
After we had met up last night, for a quick dinner, we told Ray we would do whatever he wanted to do. And he insisted on coming back here and watching football tapes with Luca. They both enjoyed watching the plays and then Luca explaining what it was. Now I was sitting on the couch, while this went down and the only reason I had some joy was because with each new tackle, or play Luca and Ray reenacted it for me. Explaining it at their very best, and watching them both fall on the ground, with the sound of joyful laughter, made me smile the most.
I took the remote and slid it onto the coffee table, and looked down at Luca who was fast asleep, and smothered in blankets. He stirred in his blankets, opening his eyes at the shining sun and the blinding beauty of me. I'd like to believe he thinks I am bling with beauty, considering he was squinting the whole time.
He extended his hand, as I took a seat next to him on his comfy and cushiony bed he had made on the ground. Our bed was much more comfortable than this. And he would know that if he had joined me.
He pulled me down to his 'Luca and Ray made bed'. He cradled my body in his, wrapping his arms around mine and pulling me closer to him. He kissed a line of kisses down my neck, moving further down my back.
"What time is it?" He whispered into my ear, moving the hair that was once blocking my ear to the side. His hands went down my front, pulling my squirming self closer to him, through the opening of my shirt.
"If you're thinking about getting up for practice, it is way past that", I told him glaring at the clock, that he was too busy kissing me to look at, which I didn't mind. He moved me over to face him, as he held my chin, leaning to kiss me.
"I already went and came back, I am a very punctual man", he proudly stated, loudly in fact. I raised my lips to meet him, I never had doubted he wasn't punctual.
"You know... I can be very very punctual with you", he said smirking at his new found way to make everything seem so dirty. It was working, just the way he spoke, and that grin he wore, they had me wrapped around their own little pinkies.
"Are you really trying to make punctual a sex term?" I asked him, getting a soft laugh from him. He raised his eyebrow in response as he brushed the few hairs that had escaped back from behind my hair.
"Is it working?" He asked, and I shook my head, defeating his proud grin that used to sit proudly on his face. He moved my arms, pulling me on top of him, as I moved my head down to meet his.
My head laid down on Luca's chest, facing Ray's sleeping figure. Luca's hands went down my back, rubbing it slowly. Ray was fast asleep while all of this went down, I knew he had needed it. I could only imagine the bout of emotions that were running through his mind over the past 24 hours. He had said he had known, but hearing it is another story, it is so much more pain. It's the last hope you have and it's taken from you.
