The night was filled with laughs and smiles and soon the space between us in the booth slowly disappeared. I hadn't even realized it, until the nerves in my thigh lit up, under his warm touch grazing it softly.

I had never imagined someone's touch could feel this good, be this relieveing , and it was just that a simple graze on my thigh that applied pressure onto the barriers of the skin and on my little, pattering heart.

I pretended to not notice his touch as the silence crept over us, and a smile slowly came over my face. He was looking towards the wall, lost in some sight that captivated him, and from where I was looking I saw a busy, vibrant wall. I couldn't pinpoint what he was looking at, I knew it was special to him as he smiled vibrantly.

My eyesight jumped to his face, which was cutting off my view of this pivotal wall, but both views were worth it. This one especially. His lips were smooth and a shade of a pinkish nude, I knew they tasted like his chapstick that he applied regularly. I wanted to reach out, and taste it for myself, but my confidence was on the lowest of lows.

"I'll get us some slices of pie, it's in the back", he said quickly removing his hand from my thigh, I nodded my head and he took off to the back.

I looked up at the wall, now that he was gone and I saw many images that danced on the wall, all telling different stories. I saw pictures of Luca playing football, but not a single one of him smiling, always a straight face with his eyes highlighted through the image.

"Dear, I packed up some food for you". Mariam came into view carrying a bag full of boxes of food. She slid the white bag across the table.

"Thank you", I told her holding in my last breath, as she took a seat silently at the booth table. My eyes connected to hers and she had felt like she was at ease for some reason. Her eyes still lingered on me as a sense of comfort overcame her.

"I've never seen him smile this much", she said and my eyes wandered to the many smiles I had seen, but that image in his car came back to the top.

"There's this photo of him here, in his car and he's smiling like I've never seen before", I told her and she nodded in remembrance.

"We have the same photo on our wall, that was a good day", she pointed to the wall of colorful and vibrant photos and then in the very corner I saw the photo. Now I could see it clearly, this was the photo he marveled at while he was sitting here with me.

This photo was a big part of him, far more than a good birthday or a graduation to him it meant more, I could tell by the way he looked at the image.

I wished I had known him more in high school, I had wished I was there for that moment in all its glory. He seemed at peace and happy. You could tell that everyone in that photo could feel his radiating smile filling them with sunshine.

From then till now, he hadn't aged a bit his muscles were enlarged and he was more buff than high school him was, but he still had his charming looks that could make every girl fall for him including me. Which explained why I went to prom with him 7 years ago and why I'm here now, relishing in old memories and hoping to make more.

"He was in high school when this was taken?", I asked her and she nodded her head, thinking about the day, the moment.

"It would've been about 6 years ago", she said remembering the image and I knew I had cut him out of my life by then, and I knew his timeline after that his career took off he went to college and was scouted and then he ended up in the NFL. I happened to know more than I let on.
