Lance had left earlier today, the two scorned brothers had made up, thankfully. And for their safety and everyone else's involved they decided to not tell Mariam, who would lose her mind about her grandsons fighting.
And for Luca and I we were still on a slippery slope, he was busy, all day yesterday with Lance and all day today. He was extremely busy, meaning he popped in and out of meetings and only out to the gym and to take Ray to the park. Other than that I hadn't seen the sights of him, until now. When he returned with a three-legged brunette, or at least I wished she was three-legged. She wore these incredible heels and a pencil skirt, while here I was dressed in sweats with a pimple patch on. Even Ray was laughing at this point, probably laughing too.
" I would like you two to meet my assistant". He said and I almost paused. "An assistant, for what?" Ray asked the same question I was thinking.
"I've decided to be a smart businessman". He tried explaining to Ray, but his eyes were all over me. The message indicated for me. And I think this pacing around, absolute mess of a man had now succumbed to promising he could provide a future for us. He was adamant.
But this lady was going to be a problem for me as she squeezed Ray's cheeks like he was three and then kissed them with red gaudy lipstick leaving a stain. He brushed his cheek rapidly, as he looked at me and then ran off to his room.
"I'll go tidy up the office, Luca". She said, as he pointed her the way and he seemingly stayed, even after she looked hopelessly lost. He still didn't go.
"I don't think I like her". I said, but I meant to keep it in, it was simply a mental thought. A thought for the mind to bring up when I proved him right. But the look on his face was a pure winner, he had won in his mind.
"Sounds like someone's jealous". He said, looking at me with those delirious eyes. "Me—jealous please". I said, trying to blow this over, but I seemed to make a bigger deal than what this was.
I was jealous, and looking at a handsome hunk pace through the house the whole day was doing it for me. Especially him. I think I needed help from a special friend tonight, otherwise I would combust and succumb to the bed of my enemies.
"I just worry about Ray... and I mean it's highly unethical to fuck someone whose working for you". I blurted out and then my mind was on haywire, and he gawked, grinned every cocky move he could pull off. He did it.
"Then who should be my assistant, you?" He asked, feeding into this little charade.
"I don't think I would ever do work again". He said, now his eyes feeding into another genre, and it's like the other day never happened.
"Really? With me looking like this, you'd never do work again". I asked him, knowing what he gets if he agrees.
"A million times yes". He said, walking over to the kitchen, in such a relaxed way.
"You can't have me though". I said, noting the tense in his shorts.
"Why not?" He was whining now, like a little boy.
"You already did. No double dipping". I said.
"I double dipped lots of times Bella". He said, his voice luring, just as his assistant came in. She entered the conversation weirdly, so I turned towards her.
"It's nice to meet you". I said, and she nodded her head, responding with a "Yeah".
I let them continue with their business ideas and plans, laughing at the entirety of this. This Sunday would not be wasted, especially since Principal Edward had asked for me to drop by his house. Normally he either had a foster kid, he needed help with or he needed some extra help managing something. I was going to bring Ray out with me, just letting him get away for a couple of hours before he gets roped into the business world that's happening outside.
