The attack turned out to be on Justin Finch-Fletchly and Nearly Headless Nick, which worried many people, seeing as Nick was a ghost. Fred and George would shout through the halls that the heir of Slytherin was coming through when Harry walked past, were jokingly. George had even given Brittany a handful of garlic one time when Harry passed, and held up a clove himself. No one wanted to stay over the holidays. It seemed as if the only Gryffindors staying were the Weasley's, who didn't want to go with their parents and visit Bill in Egypt, Hermione, Harry, and Brittany. Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle were luckily staying over break as well. This meant that the polyjuice would be finished in time, and the common room was empty enough to play exploding snap loudly. And practice dueling, at least until Percy had to put out a fire Brittany had caused in an attempt to stop Harry's spell.
"Well we never learned the protection spell, not really, we had to look it up ourselves! I was worth a try!"
"Only a pyromanic would set fire to cause a shield."
Hermione dragged Brittany into the girl's bathroom early Christmas morning to help add more lacewing flies to the potion. She had already opened her presents, mostly including some type of inedible food from Hagrid and a very comfy green sweater from Mrs. Weasley.
"It had to be this early."
Brittany yawned as she held up a book.
"Okay, add seven. No, six. Add six, turn counter clockwise twice, then add seven."
Fast enough, the potion was finished.
"Great, let's go wake up the boys. Do you think Ron'll actually read what I got him?"
Brittany and Hermione stepped into the boys dormitory. Brittany was carrying Fire. He meowed.
"It stinks in here."
She said.
"That's just because Lavender and Parvati use their perfume way to much in our room."
Brittany shrugged.
"As long as it smells like mangos, I'm fine. OKAY BOYS GET UP."
Hermione pulled back the curtains.
"You're not supposed to be in here!"
Ron exclaimed.
"Says who?"
Brittany asked.
"Well-"
"Merry Christmas!"
Hermione said, throwing Ron a box that hit him in the head.
"Yeah, Merry Christmas both of you."
She tosses Ron a wrapped book, How to play like the Cannons (at their best), and Harry a book about broomsticks. She just gave Hermione a book, knowing she's read whatever it was. It was something fantasy, at least.
"Hedwig!"
Harry exclaimed as the owl flew through the window.
"Are you talking to me again?"
Brittany stroked Fire, who purred.
"I'd never do anything to anger my let."
She smiled.
"Yeah, you've jut got a cat. Hedwig actually has a brain."
Harry responded.
"He didn't mean it! Or did you?"
Brittany covered her cat's ears.
"Siblings."
Hermione rolled her eyes.
"From the Dursely's. They want to know if it's possible to stay over summer holiday."
Harry said.
"I wish it was."
Brittany sighed.
"Yes, now the polyjuice is ready and should be used tonight. Tonight we find out the truth."
Hermione interrupted them.
"Okay Malfoy, time to reveal your secrets."
