Brittany stood outside the door to the staff room, anxiously listening to the teachers.
"The Heir of Slytherin....."
"Ginny Weasley...."
"In the Chamber itself...."
She only heard a few words but got the general idea. Suddenly there were footsteps from around a corner and Brittany dashed to the suit of armour near her. She knew it was a terrible place to hide and with her luck it would be Snape or Filch or someone who would spot her easily, but it was the closest place to hide Luckily, it was just Lockhart, and he slammed into the staff room, beaming. It was then that Brittany had the sudden urge to go to the bathroom. Not actually go to the bathroom, but go to the girls bathroom and talk to Myrtle. Why, she didn't know. She hurriedly ran around the corner and made her way to the bathroom.

-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-"-

There was no one there when she walked in. Not even Myrtle. It was odd that she had the feeling to come here... Why had that happened? She looked around and found nothing suspicious about the bathroom. Normal bathroom, bit of water from Moaning Myrtle flooding it the other day, nothing new. Unless she wasn't looking for something new. Maybe... she was just about to look for anything that she may have overlooked all those other times when she heard the door open. She slipped into a stall and waited until she heard voices.
"This is where we think it is, Professor."
Brittany pushed open the stall.
"Harry?"
She asked.
"Bloody hell, Brittany, warn us next time."
Ron gasped.
"Sorry."
Brittany rolled her eyes. She saw that Professor Lockhart was with them. He stayed silent.
"Have you heard about Ginny?"
Harry asked. Brittany nodded
"We think....well, we think the chamber might be in here."
Harry said slowly. Brittany looked over at the window.
"Because the girl died in a bathroom. If she never left that bathroom..."
"Exactly."
A splash was heard at the other end of the room and a loud crying moan came from the toilet.
"Myrtle?"
Harry asked.
"Who's there? Not another one, is it? Leave me alone!"
Harry glanced at Ron. He waved his hand as if to say, Go on go. Harry walked over to Myrtle.
"Oh, hello, Harry."
She smiled.
"Hello Myrtle. We came...to ask you about your...death."
Myrtle smiled a bit wider.
"Oh, it was dreadful. Happened in this very stall. I was hiding because Olive Hornsby had teased me about my glasses. I heard the door open, and someone spoke something. Probably a different language. But it was defiantly a boy, and I walked out to tell him to use his own bathroom....and I died."
Myrtle smiled importantly.
"How?"
Harry asked
"Don't know.
Myrtle whispered.
"All I know is that I saw a great pair of yellow eyes by that sink. I seized up and floated away...I wanted to come back and haunt Olive Hornsby. Oh, was she sorry she ever teased me."
Harry looked over at the tap that Myrtle pointe at.
"It's never worked."
Se said brightly.
"Say something. Say something in Parseltongue, Harry."
Ron said. Harry looked like her was going to object, but he thought hard, and a hissing noise came out of his mouth.
"Woah."
Brittany stepped back.
"Show me the Chamber of Secrets?"
She asked.
"No. I just said open up."
Harry replied. Open up was right. The tap had glowed and spun, and now it was sinking and leaving a pipe large enough for a person to fit in. Harry looked from Ron to Brittany.
"This is it. This is the Chamber of Secrets.
