A light appeared ahead.
"I hear wings."
Brittany said as they entered a large room.
"Woah."
There were thousands of tiny birds.
"They'll probably attack if we cross the room."
Ron said.
"I'll run across."
Harry said. He looked fairly stupid expecting to be attacked by the glittering birds.
"The door won't open."
He said as he tugged at it.
"These birds can't be here just for decoration."
Hermione whispered.
"Why are they shimmering and glittering?"
Brittany asked.
"They're keys! That must mean...broom sticks! We have to catch the key to the door!"
Harry found the answer.
"You're the best flyer."
Brittany said and handed him a broom. She handed Ron the other one.
"Hermione and I couldn't fly to save our lives."
She said. Harry and Ron took and while and Hermione had to help by hovering a little off the ground to corner and catch it, but they made it through. They entered a room filled with darkness. When the light came up, they were standing on the edge of a large chessboard.
"What now?"
Harry asked.
"It's obvious. We have to play our way across."
Ron answered. There was another door behind the white pieces.
"Don't get offended but you aren't that good at chess..."
Ron said.
"We aren't. Tell us how to play, Ron."
"OK, I'll be a knight, Harry, you should be a bishop, Hermione can be that castle next to Harry, and Brittany you can be the castle on the other side."
They took their places and waited.
"White always moves first..."
The game turned out to be exactly like wizards chess, brutal and unforgiving. Pieces were falling everywhere, and then Ron made a dangerous decision.
"I have to make my move and the queen will take me."
He said.
"No!"
Hermione screamed.
"Harry, you are free to checkmate the king after that. I have to do it!"
Ron made his move and the queen took him. She hit the side of his head and he fell over. Harry slowly made his move and the white king took off his crown.
"We have to keep going."
Harry said.
"He'll be all right."
They went through the other door.
"Hopefully."
