Herbology had been canceled due to the first major snowstorm of the year, so the second year Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs had a free period one morning. Brittany was honestly getting tired of watching Harry and Ron play wizard's chess. Harry looked anxious.
"Honestly, Harry, if it's bothering you that much, just go tell Justin what happened."
Hermione spoke up. Harry looked like he had just decided something.
"Yeah, I will."
He left the common room.
"Merlin, I'm bored."
Brittany rolled over so she was upside down on the couch.
"The world looks funny like this."
She muttered.
"You know, you could be studying."
Hermione pointed out.
"I'm going to go draw the snow storm."
Brittany flipped over and onto the ground.
"See you in a bit."
She grabbed her bag and searched inside to make sure she had a few muggle pencils and a notebook.
"I really need an actual sketchbook."
She said as she extracted the notebook from her bag and climbed out the portrait hole.
"Where would the best window be?"
She asked herself. The snow was falling down softly as she raced through the halls, passed the library, and down a deserted corridor. At the end was a very large window that happened to have a large window sill that would be great for sitting in. She fumbled in her bag for a minute and pulled out the notebook. The snow had perfectly coated the ground, and was piling up around the trees around the Forbidden forest. She could have stayed there all day to draw. However, Transfiguration was in an hour and a half, so she sat down and immediately grabbed her pencil and started drawing soft lines of lead over the paper. It felt good to be writing on regular paper with normal pencil lead instead of parchment and ink. She almost didn't notice the feeling like someone was watching her. She set down the pencil and spun around, expecting a teacher, but what she saw startled her incredibly.
