Brittany was still being followed by a (much smaller though) cloud of smoke by Hallowe'en. She was trying to persuade Hermione into accepting that she honestly didn't want to join Harry and Ron in going to Nearly Headless Nick's death day party.
"First of all, I'm sick. I don't want to get any of the ghosts sick-"
Brittany started.
"Oh you are not using that excuse. They're all already dead!"
Brittany shrugged.
"And it's cold down there so I might get re-sick."
Brittany argued.
"You just don't want to come."
Hermione scowled.
"No, not particularly."
Brittany said and went out onto the stairs.
"Oh really, you just have some clever plan to get yourself in detention, don't you?"
Hermione asked.
"You could put it that way."
Brittany said and pushed open the common room door.
"Fine. We could be the only living humans at a death day party and you want to do some prank. Go on, then."
Brittany smiled sarcastically.
"Thanks for being so supportive."
She joined Fred, George, and Lee as they walked down the way to the Great Hall.
"Where's Harry?"
Fred asked.
"Death day party."
Brittany said like it was normal.
"So death is a reason to celebrate?'
George asked.
"Of course not!"
Brittany sighed.
"Or is it..."
Lee added.
"No. Death is sad. I had a fish once, that I won in a contest at a carnival, and my cousin flushed him down the toilet. It was cruel. He's cruel."
Brittany shuddered.
"The fish?"
Fred asked innocently.
"No, really?"
Brittany smiled.
"Knew it. Fish are terrible."
George solemnly said.
"Sorry 'bout your cousin. Probably was killed by the fish in his sleep."
Lee said mockingly mournful.
"If only."
Brittany laughed.
"But anyway, the feast should be just great."
Brittany said with a slightly evil look.
"I can't wait to see the Slytherin's...."
