Christmas break was coming to a close, and Hermione had come back the day before term started. When term started again they were back to skimming library books for Flamel(Well, Ron, Harry, and Hermione were, Brittany had more 'important' things to do, most ending in detention)yet they still found nothing. Harry seemed to have less time with even more practices for Quidditch. One evening Brittany was watching Ron and Hermione playing chess when Harry came in the common room.

"Don't talk to me for a sec, I'm concentrating."

Ron had said. Harry seemed as if something was bothering him.

"Hi Harry. Whats up?"

Brittany asked.

"Snape's refereeing the match."

Harry said.

"What?! He can't!"

Brittany exclaimed, almost falling off the chair she was sitting in.

"Don't play."

Hermione said as soon as she heard.

"Say you're ill."

Ron added.

"Pretend to break your leg." Hermione suggested.

"Really break your leg."

Brittany and Ron said at the same time.

"I can't there isn't a reserve seeker."

Harry sighed. Just then Neville toppled through the portrait with probably a leg locker curse. Almost everyone fell over laughing, Brittany rushed to help Neville, while Hermione cast the counter curse.

"What happened?"

Hermione asked.

"Malfoy. I met him outside the library. He said he'd been looking for someone to practice that on."

"Go to Professor McGonagall!"

Hermione urged.

"Report him!"

Neville mumbled something about more trouble. Ron said that he had to stand up to him.

"There's no need to tell me I'm not brave enough to be in Gryffindor, Malfoy's already done that."

Neville chocked out.

Harry seemed to be looking for something, and pulled out a chocolate frog that he gave to Neville.

"You're worth twelve of Malfoy. The Sorting Hat chose you for Gryffindor. And where's Malfoy? In stinking Slytherin."

Neville seemed to weakly smile.

"Thanks Harry...I think I'll go to bed now...d'you want the cards, I know you collect them, don't you?"

Neville said.

Harry tool the card and stared at it for a while.

"I found him!"

Harry whispered.

"Found who?"

Brittany asked.

"Nicolas Flamel! Dumbledore is particularly famous for..."

Brittany heard something about dark wizards and dragon blood.

"And his work on alchemy with his partner, Nicolas Flamel!"

Harry read.

"Wait here!"

Hermione rushed off and came back with a large book.

"I checked this out at the library for a bit of light reading."

She said.

"Light?"

Ron asked, in disbelief.

"Nicolas Flamel is the only known maker of the sorcerers stone!"

Hermione gasped.

"The what?"

Harry and Ron asked.

"Honestly, don't you read? Look-read there."

Brittany skimmed paragraph about immortal stones and golden stuff.

"See? The dog must be guarding the stone! I bet he asked Dumbledore to keep it safe for him, because they're friends, and he knew someone was after it, that's why they broke into Gringotts!"

Hermione said.

"Someone broke into Gringotts?"

Brittany asked.

"Yes, read the paper. A stone that makes you immortal and turns anything into gold! No wonder Snape wants it."

Harry said.

"And no wonder we couldn't find him in any recent history book, he?s not exactly recent at six hundred and sixty-five, is he?"

Ron asked.

(Bold means it is not in the story:And you can tell the book I'm using was printed in(...New York...I think...) the USA because it's the sorcerers and not philosophers stone! RagingDalek)
