"Guess what!"
Seamus said as Brittany made her way to Transfiguration.
"They've decided that magic is allowed in the corridors?"
Brittany said hopefully.
"No, not that exciting."
Seamus smiled.
"They've started a dueling club!"
Brittany perked up.
"So we can hex Slytherins without getting in trouble."
Brittany said.
"Yeah, something like that."
Seamus nodded.
"I wonder who's leading it?"
Brittany asked.
"Might be Flitwick. Someone said he was a dueling champion when he was younger."
Seamus answered.
"What if it's Dumbledore? Not likely, but he's still probably the best there is!"
Brittany told him.
"Probably not, with him being too busy with that monster in the school and all. But it would be cool."
Seamus answered. Brittany nodded again.
"I just hope whoever it is doesn't mind a little fire and/or explosion. Sometimes my spells go a bit wrong."
Seamus added.
"Defiantly. I seem to make fires bigger and explosions a bit less minor, so fire spells are much like my potions, which always end up in ashes and smoke, and they're liquid. My fire always gets a little large."
Brittany sighed.
"Don't worry. Last year I blew up water."
Seamus shook his head.
"Don' know how I managed that one."
Brittany nodded.
"Some things just are meant to be less stable."

The Great Hall was full, and Brittany could barley see the table set up in front.
"Three guesses who's doing it."
Brittany muttered under her breath as Hermione squealed.
"Hello, hello. Professor Dumbledore has allowed me to start up this little dueling club. My assistant, Professor Snape, will join me in a little demonstration. Now don't worry, you'll still have your potions professor when I'm done with him!"
Lockhart laughed.
"Maybe.... just maybe..."
Brittany closed her eyes and crossed her fingers.
"Maybe what?"
Hermione asked.
"Maybe one of them'll severely hurt the other and they won't be able to teach. Or not even painful hurt, just permanently stick their tongue to the roof of their mouth or make them lose their memory."
Hermione rolled her eyes.
"You wish."
Brittany sighed.
"Yeah, too much to ask for."
Snape and Lockhart were aiming now.
"On three."
Lockhart said with a flourish.
"One..."
"Two..."
"Three...!"
Snape was faster and shouted,
"Expelliarmus!"
And disarmed Lockhart.
"Ah! Excellent that you should show them that professor, but if you don't mind me saying, it was very obvious what you were about to do, and it would have been all to easy to stop you."
Lockhart laughed feebly.
"Shall we... ah.... pair up? Have the students try for themselves?"
Lockhart asked Snape.
"If you so choose."
They started pairing off students, with a little difficulty when it came to Harry, Ron, and Malfoy.
"Potter! Turner! Pair up!"
Snape snapped at an older Slytherin and Brittany.
"Nice to meet you."
The boy grinned.
"Pleasure."
Brittany smiled just as sarcastically. "I'm Daniel Turner. I have some knowledge of you you are, of course, being Harry Potter's sister, but to be polite I'll let you introduce yourself."
He smirked.
"Brittany Potter. Seeing as you already knew that, I say you're just wasting time. What, afraid of a little duel with a Gryffindor? A younger one for that matter."
Turner glared at her.
"Well, Potter. If you so wish to begin dueling, I say why not. I do hope you know that I will be superior to you."
He smirked again. Brittany was getting slightly annoyed with his false sophistication.
"So it begins Turner."
They bowed and faced each other.
"Disarm only?"
He asked
"That's what Lockhart said."
He nodded.
"Three."
Brittany stared unblinkingly at him as he started a countdown.
"Two."
Brittany said to liven things up.
"One."
Turner pointed his wand.
"Expelliarmus!"
Brittany leapt out of the way.
"Tarantallegra!"
The spell just missed him.
"Rictusempra!"
He shot back. Brittany side stepped out of the way just in time.
"Expelliarmus!"
She said as Turner took a step forward. Her spell just missed him.
"You seem like more of a worthy opponent that I thought you to be."
Turner sneered.
"Oh really?"
Brittany said as she ducked his spell. She cast another that missed him by at least a metre, almost hitting another group.
"Yes, but your aim is clearly off."
He said as he shoot a spell towards her. She dodged it, but it came very close to her.
"Incendio!"
She sent a jet of fire at the ground, startling him and causing him to drop his wand.
"Accio!"
Though weak, it was enough to stop him from getting back his wand.
"Disarm only Potter."
Turner hissed as he retrieved his wand.
"But that's what it did, didn't it? You dropped your wand, rendering you useless."
She had a turn to smirk. Hopefully it didn't look as bad as it felt.
"You cunning little fox."
Turner raised an eyebrow.
"How are you not a Slytherin?"
Brittany smiled mockingly.
"Gryffindor secrets, dear Slytherin, are for Gryffindors."
Just then there was a shout on the other side of the room.
"Serpensortia!"
Malfoy had cast a snake at Harry.
"Now that isn't disarming."
Brittany said under her breath. Lockhart attempted to get rid of it. but just angered it. It turned in a Hufflepuff, which she believed was named Justin... Cardinal? Some type of bird... Finch! Justin Finch-Fletchley, wasn't it? Who cares, the snake was heading at him. Harry, however, seemed to be.... talking? Hissing? Oh. Talking to the snake. But.... how? The snake did lay off Justin, and Snape vanished it, but all eyes were on Harry. Turner raised an eyebrow (extremely hard to do, how ever Slytherins seem to be able to smirk and raise a single eyebrow was a mystery)
"Oh dear, it seems as if some Gryffindor secrets have been spilled, haven't they?"
