Kayoko couldn't wait to get home.
She had a project that she needed your help with, and thankfully her tía and tío were here to help. "Are we almost there Uncle Sho?" Kayoko asked as she kicked her feet.
"Kayoko, that's the fifth time you've asked me when you know your house is down the street." He told her while turning the corner. "Oh yeah, sorry."
After a couple of minutes, the car stopped and she was ready to jump out of the car. Once she was out it was like a quick dash to the door and waiting until Shouto opened it.
"MAMA I NEED YOUR HELP!" She yelled while kicking her shoes off and running toward you. "Woah slow down Peanut. Can I get a hello before you come in all crazy?"
Kayoko flung her book bag off her shoulder and dug in it. "We have this project Mama, and you're gonna help me with it!" The boys came over after taking their shoes off, and Shouto sat on the couch with a sleeping Amai.
"First, I'm going to need you to ask properly." "Mama, can you please help me with my project?" "Yes, I can. Second, what's this project that's got you all excited?" She handed you a paper, which was a rubric.
You read it over, seeing she had to make a family chart of one side of her family. "This is what got you all hyper?" "Yes! I love hearing about our family in Mexico." She sat next to you while kicking her feet.
It put a smile on your face that she was happy to know about her family. "My class did it too! Look at mine Titi!" Akimitsu said while putting it on the table.
It was... Definitely a drawing. He'd done worse, so it's good he stuck with heads. "You did good! I bet Ms. Suzuki is going to love it." You smiled and handed it back to him.
"Hey Shouto, can you get Carmen and Carlitos out of the basement? And tell them to spray if they've been, y'know." You made the hand motions of smoking while he nodded and went downstairs.
Were your sibling's potheads? Yeah, they were. But as long as they smoked in the basement or outside when the kids weren't around you were fine with it. By the time they came downstairs, Kayoko had set up all her school supplies. "Hola niños," Carlitos said while sitting down.
Carmen sat down too, but she looked nervous. "You okay Carmen?" She just nodded, and she turned her head away from the kids. You were going to question her until you heard her exhale and smoke cloud the air.
She quickly waved the smoke away before turning and smiling. "Gosh, you never know what's gonna come out of your mouth am I right?" She smiled at your strict face before taking the paper from your hand.
"Wow sobrina, you're doing a family tree? It might be difficult since we have a lot of primos." "I'm not gonna do all of them! Just like the primary people." She took her poster out and looked at you, ready to start.
"Well, it starts with your Bisabuela Claudia and Bisabuelo Bruno." "What are their quirks?" You looked at Hiraku because it wasn't his family tree. "Why do you wanna know?" "I just like quirks." He smiled, showing off the gaps from his lost teeth.
"Well Abuela can make anything taste good, and Abuelo can change the shape of things," Carmen said while eating a Taquito. "Okay, now I need their kids." "Well in order it's tia Rita, tio Vero, tio Juan, and your Abuela Lucia."
Kayoko was about to draw until she realized something. "I don't remember what they look like Mama." "Already ahead of you sobrina." Carlitos slid his phone to Kayoko so she could see a picture of everyone.
"El rojo is staring at me." Carmen said while poking Hiraku. "Rita changes the looks of things, Vero and Juan are twins who can make shapes if they both agree on them, and Mama could make colored clouds."
Kayoko's crayons ran across the paper at the speed of light, but it looked nice from what you could see. "Abuela Lucia married Abuelo Andres, and they had you three!" She already knew about her grandparents and of course her mother and siblings.
"Make sure you give my Papa his mustache, it's a key trait of his. He could make people happy with a hug." Hiraku, who was now sitting on Carmen's lap, awwed at her. "That's a nice way to describe your dad." "That's his quirk boba." "Oh, whoops."
Kayoko finished her drawing and looked at it. "Alright, tia makes different kinds of clouds, tio doesn't have a quirk, and Mama changes people's emotions. She married Papa, who makes sweaty hand explosions, and they had me, Kyoichi, and Pumpkin. I make emotional explosions, Kyoichi doesn't have a quirk yet, and Pumpkin doesn't exist yet. Done!"
"Aww, good job Pumpkin! Make sure you put your name and the date and label what is it." Even though you hadn't taught in months, you still had that teacher's brain. "One small detail, you drew tia Rita smiling, she doesn't smile," Carlitos had never seen his aunt smile a day in his life.
"Yoyo, your family sounds so cool," Akimitsu said while helping her put up crayons. "I know right! I wish they didn't all live in Mexico though." "Oh yeah, I get that. My Uncle Touya lives in Canada, so we only see him once a month." You had to stifle back a laugh at his words.
Yeah, Touya was definitely not in Canada.
