Three days. Katsuki had known for three days and hadn't said a thing. When he first found out, you did talk about it. He asked you how long had you known, and you told him a week and a half. You asked him was he okay, and he just nodded. After that, it was over. Life went on the same. Both of you went to work, came home, ate, and went to bed.
It drove you mad.
You needed to talk about it. Not with Uraraka, not with Izuku, but with your Katsuki. It felt like he was ignoring you, and you didn't know what to do. And sitting in your office didn't make it better. Though you were a pro hero, you taught at UA. Teaching first years was... An experience. You loved your kids, and it was wonderful that you were molding them into the world's best heros.
But now you had another life you would be shaping, and it's for 18 years. That was the scary part. This was your baby. You would teach them everything. They would learn and grow and you would have to take the reigns. But Katsuki was a big part of that as well. Raising a child was a two-people job. The both of you were going to be parents in a couple of months. And you needed to discuss it.
"(L/N)-Sensei?" Your head turned to look at the first year in front of you. Her bright yellow hair and freckled-covered skin drew your eyes away from the picture of Katsuki you had been staring at while thinking. "Um, yes?" "I was wondering about my hero costume? I'd like to make adjustments to it."
You let out a small "Oh," while grabbing a sticky note and writing down a room number. "Go here. This is where all changes to hero costumes happen." The girl let out a small thank you before skipping away. You hoped Hatsume was in the mood for visitors.
As the day went on, you couldn't help but feel anxious. There was no right way to talk to Katsuki. Even when he was calm, things still felt off. Sometimes the two of you could come to an agreement, and others he ended up sleeping on the couch.
This time, it wasn't an argument. It was talking about your unborn child. There was no beating around the bush with this. So when you got home to see him cooking, you felt a familiar knot in your stomach.
You walked up to your husband, watching as his eyes shifted to you. "We need to talk." You attempted to sound stern, but your own voice betrayed you. Bakugou raised an eyebrow, not stopping his wrist from stirring. "This baby, our baby, is scary. I want to have this baby, but I'm not prepared. I need your help Katsuki. You haven't told me anything about how you feel. I'm the one having the baby, but I care about your feelings too. I want us both to be stable enough to have this baby, and we can't do that if you don't talk to me." You could feel your eyes starting to water, and before you could do anything about it calloused hands grabbed your face.
"I'm-" Katsuki took a breath, looking down then meeting his eyes with yours. "I'm terrified. It's a goddamn baby (y/n). I don't know how to take care of a fucking baby. They're small and frail and can't do anything without an adult. I can't be a dad. I'm not prepared to do that shit. But you're pregnant so I don't have a fucking choice." His red eyes looked down. You could tell he was bottling up everything he had felt the past three days.
"I don't know how to cope with this shit. But I know you need more help than I do right now. I shouldn't have made you worry about my sorry ass when you're literally growing a fucking human inside you. You don't need to be worrying about me. I should be taking care of you instead." There were no words. You didn't know how to respond to him. Instead, you just pulled him into a hug.
"I think... We can figure this out." You started to pat his head, running your fingers through his hair. "We just need to talk to each other more." You felt Katsuki nod his head and wrap his hands around your body. That's how the next couple of minutes were spent. That was until you both smelled smoke. "Oh fuck the noodles!" Katsuki yelled, turning off the stove and fanning the food. You couldn't help but laugh at your husband frantically waved a towel around. The smoke detector did not need to go off again.
Thankfully the noodles were saved, and Katsuki finished the udon. You both stayed in the kitchen, Katsuki leaning on the counter and you sitting on the isle. You were already on your second bowl, and you felt like you could do a third. "Slow down baby girl. It's not going to run away." "I'm eating for two now I can do whatever I want." You've only known you were pregnant for three weeks and you were already making pregnancy comebacks.
Katsuki finished his bowl and placed it in the sink while you finished your second one. He offered to take it, and you handed it to him. "I have an appointment in two days if you wanna come." "You bet your ass I want to come." I small giggle left your body and you hoped off the isle. The rest of the night was basic, but you had felt better than ever. Today was better than everything that's happened.
