The Mighties. The biggest night of the year. You were getting an award dedicated to you today.

"Are you excited?" Kayoko asked, twirling the ends of her dress. "Hm... I'm still feeling it all right now. I think excitement is one of the feelings." You breathed out a smile, leaning on Katsuki. You decided to bring Kayoko to the awards for the first time. There was something important about your daughter watching you win this award, and she needed to see it in person.

"You're gonna do great, you deserve this," Katsuki said, gently kissing your forehead which made a smile spread on your face. It was good he was there and supportive, and even though he had his nominations he emphasized that the night was for and about you. He took a step back so the world could see you shine as bright as he did.

When the car stopped and you could hear the sound of cameras flashing and voices that nervousness set into your stomach. Taking a deep breath, you closed your eyes, keeping them that way until you heard the door open. Katsuki got out first, holding his hand out to help you. It was as if the flashes got even brighter and quicker. You couldn't blame them though, you looked good.

While you usually wore orange to support Katsuki, tonight was about you. That meant you chose the color, and Mitsuki almost jumped for joy when the color red left your lips. Katsuki even wore a red tie to match. You briefly waved before turning back to the car, helping Kayoko get out. You watched her squint due to the bright flashes, and while you wanted to tell her she shouldn't, you weren't about to media train your six-year-old. She did look cute though, she wanted to match you more than anything.

"It's so bright..." she groaned, making both you and Katsuki laugh. "You'll get used to it, don't worry." Katsuki grabbed Kayoko's hand, and the three of you walked to the red carpet to take pictures. Though you were wearing big a smile on the outside, your heart was pounding on the inside. You just breathed, leaning into Katsuki's touch as you tried to look as calm as possible.

"Papa, I wanna go talk to the people." Kayoko was practically pulling Katsuki to the interviewers, and he laughed before looking at you. "You alright if our princess goes to address the people?" "She can go, but make sure they're watching their words with my baby." Katsuki nodded, and he was being dragged away in a beat. Now it was your turn to stand and watch a million lights flash to get shots of you.

"Yoyo's on TV!" Kyoichi yelled from the couch, sitting with the rest of the kids and Eri as they watched the Mighties. "You know, I'm really excited for my mommy. She's the best mommy ever. Papa's cool and all, but mommy deserves this." Kayoko yapped to the interviewer. "I wish I got to go to the Mighties..." Hiraku crossed his arms in a pout. "Dad said you're not allowed to go to public outings until you apologize for the thing." "I will not! How was I supposed to know that thing was flammable?!"

As the night continued and after the third intermission, you knew it was time. Katsuki's hand was tight in yours, and as the music played your eyes went back to the stage, but you were surprised to see Ochako up there. You couldn't help but chuckle because of course she lied about going to the bathroom. "Good evening everyone, I hope we're having a great night. This year, the Mighties is dedicating an award to my best friend, and when they reached out asking me to introduce her I had no choice but to accept. Keeping this secret was hard, and I see the shock on her face right now." Ochako nodded in your direction, making a chuckle leave your body.

"Bakugou y/n, more commonly known as Peace Maker, has lived up to her chosen hero name for the last twelve years. She's done work helping adolescents and young adults in the adoption and foster care systems to better their systems and fostering child emotions and therapeutic help. She's the founder of The Peace Maker Foundation, which advocates adoption and foster care as pathways to peace, providing resources and support to build loving families and empower children in need. She's been a teacher at her Alma Mater, U.A. High School, where she's helped train the next set of heroes. Her first group of students has graduated, and are now sitting here today due to the motivation she instilled in them. Though we are all heroes, Peace Maker has taken it a step beyond, her dedication to her community and her will to give back inspires us all, and I of all people know she deserves this recognition more than anything."

One of the presenters walked on the stage, handing Ochako the award. It was gold, of course, a figure of the world being held by two hands. "This award, the Peace Maker, is a symbol of love and dedication to the world as a whole. While its namesake will be the first to receive it, the award will continue to be given to others whose actions go beyond the expectations. So, finally getting off my soap box, I will now award this to none other than Peace Maker herself."

The applause almost fell on deaf ears, and you tried your best not to cry as Katuski helped you up and walked you to the stage. Ochako handed you the award, saying a small congratulations and hugging you before stepping off the stage. You took a shuddery breath, trying not to let the nerves take over as the applause died down and you stood in front of the mic. "Thank you, thank you all so much. I'll try to keep this short so I can reduce the chances of me crying." A slightly broken chuckle left your mouth, scattered laughter following.

"I've always had a big heart. Maybe it's because of the quirk, but I truly have so much compassion for people. No one had that for me as a child, and while it made me resentful for a brief moment, I realized that instead of being mad at the world I should try and change it. The work I do and this award is so much bigger than me. Sometimes, this work can feel unseen. I'm not out catching the villains or in the big fights, but this award shows everyone that being a hero is a wide range profession. All it takes is the will to help. Even though this award is dedicated to me, I want to dedicate it to my mother. Though she's no longer here with me, and my memories of her are far and few, I remember her kindness. No matter what, there was a smile on her face. I think of her when I do anything, and I'm forever grateful for the short time I had with her. This award isn't only a recognition of me but of her and the legacy she's created. Thank you for showing her little girl that she could do such big things."

You held the award tight, holding back tears as people stood and clapped. You continued to mumble out thanks and quickly bowed before walking off the stage, Katsuki was there to meet you halfway and walk you back. His lips pecked yours a couple times while he said how proud he was of you. The tears had to slip as you went back to your table and your friends congratulated you as well. You sat the award down, but before you could sit, little arms wrapped around you. Looking down, you couldn't help but smile at Kayoko. You leaned down to her level, wrapping your arms around her and squeezing her tight, maybe too tight, but she did it back just as hard.

"I love you so much, mommy."
