You never realized how hard it was to party plan.
It was December 20th, and for the past three days, Kaminari had been planning a Christmas party. Usually, he'd party plan with Mina, but she had a doctor's appointment today. So, he asked you to help him. Katsuki was upset since it was cutting into Saturday family time, but you assured him he'd get his time when you got back home.
While Kaminari had already told you most of it was done, there was still a lot to do. Mainly he would just ask for your opinion, and sometimes it would be incorporated into what he wrote down. "So, we agreed to do it at Shouto's house since he has the biggest dining and living room. It's kind of a potluck thing, and couples have to bring two things. I need someone on desserts..."
Kaminari tapped his pen against his chin as he thought. "Uh, I can make flan and arroz con leche." He looked at you before clicking his pen and writing words down. "I have no idea what those are but they sound good. You're on dessert." You nodded before looking around, seeing a box on the counter.
"Are those donuts?" Kaminari looked up and gave a nod. "Can I have one?" He nodded again, and you quickly got up and went to the box. Party planning wasn't really your thing. When you opened the box you saw the different types of donuts. You just grabbed three and put them on a paper towel before going back to the table.
The blonde looked at you with a raised brow. "What? I missed breakfast." He just playfully sighed before starting to write again. "So, I think we should do a white elephant. But not spend more than a hundred dollars." Denki's look up at you was his way of asking for your opinion.
"I think we should do twenty-five like usual. There are some really fancy things you can get with a hundred, and it should be a fun thing." He nodded before starting to write again. "What made you want to do this?" "I dunno. I just think it would be nice to spend Christmas together." You just nodded while biting into the plain donut.
While he wasn't looking at you, Kaminari could tell you were bored. He looked into the pile of papers he had and handed you a couple along with small sticky notes. "Here, make notes on anything you think should be different and put it on the paper so I can see." Good, you had a task now.
You never knew there were so many steps to planning a party. You'd tell them what you wanted for the kids' birthday parties, and they usually did all the work. You probably needed to start paying them for this. By the time you'd finished three papers, your first donut was gone.
You bit into the second donut, but the taste of strawberry filled your mouth. You knew there was filling inside the donut due to the shape, but you were expecting the normal vanilla flavor. Kaminari was about to ask you a question before he saw the disgusted look on your face. "You okay?" You nodded, taking the napkin and spitting out the donut.
"It just didn't taste right." He gave you a confused look as he looked at you. "It's strawberry. You love strawberries." He watched as you shrugged and got up to throw the napkin away. Gears started to turn in his head as he tapped his pen.
Now, Kaminari wasn't the brightest tool in the shed. But if you gave him all the pieces he could solve the puzzle. There was something there, but he couldn't think of what. "Can I ask you something? And you can't get mad when I ask because I could just be overthinking stuff."
You looked at him as you grabbed a bottle of water, nodding before taking a sip. "Are you pregnant?" You both looked at each other in silence for a couple of seconds. "Damn, you're three for three Kams." That made his eyes go wide as the pen in his hand fell.
"Oh god, you're pregnant..." Kaminari was kind of repeating it to himself. While he was just thinking off a hunch, he didn't think he was gonna be right. "You're always the first one to get it." "I'm the first person to know?!"
You laughed as you shook your head and sat back down. "Katsuki and the family know. Katsuki and I decided not to tell any of you and just see how long it takes you all to realize. We're gonna officially tell everyone on New Years'. So don't tell anyone, we have bets going on." Kaminari nodded, processing all the information.
"I'm surprised you remembered I liked strawberries. I guess Pumpkin isn't a fan." That made him give a confused look. "Pumpkin? They already have a nickname?" You let out another laugh before taking another sip of water. "We found out like a week and a half ago. Katsuki's just quick to think of nicknames."
You pulled out your phone, and before he could ask what you were doing you answered him. "Katsuki and I made a bet to see who would get it first. I bet on you, so now he owes me 2184 yen." He just nodded while looking back at the papers on his table.
It was the most interesting party planning he'd done.
