Once the women had left the bathroom, Vi turned to Dina.
"I have a question"
She asked, making Dina gulp, before she could respond, Vi asked her question
"Do you want to make money here the way I do?"
She asked, Dina felt her entire being relax, seeing as her mind went straight to the gutter, she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding before scratching the back of her neck.
"Yeah.."
"Can you fight?"
"I can"
Vi hummed, remaining silent after Dina assured her she could fight. She simply walked over to the pile of folded clothes that sat by her toiletry bag and got dressed, not caring who was watching.
Dina began to beam red again, quickly turning away to give Vi some privacy, even if it seemed like she didn't care for it. Vi simply chuckled at Dina's reaction and continued to get dressed. While their backs were turned to one another, Dina took the opportunity to get changed into her own clothes. When she turned back around, she saw Vi wrapping her hands with what looked like a bandage but firmer.
"Do you really think you can fight?"
She asked, Dina simply nodded in response, confused as to why it took her this long to speak
"Okay, show me then"
She said, stepping slightly back as she raised her fists, ready to fight.
"In here? Now? What about breakfast?"
Vi looked up at the clock hanging on the wall, as she read it she shrugged
"We've got an hour left, I doubt you take that long to eat your food"
"I don't wanna hurt you, Vi"
Dina hesitated, her words made Vi ease up, she let her hands fall back to her sides.
"You won't hurt me, just throw a punch, trust me"
She insisted
"I can't, you've got a good heart, why would I punch you?"
For a second, Dina noticed Vi's entire expression change, Vander's words echoed through her head
"You've got a good heart. Don't ever lose it, no matter how the world tries to break you"
Vi took a slow, deep breath, composing herself from the flash of memory she had of her old friend.
"Vi? Are you okay?"
Dina asked, approaching her cellmate and placing her hand on her shoulder in concern
"It's nothing"
She said, shrugging away Dina's hand.
Dina simply nodded before stepping back, giving Vi some space.
"What are you in here for?"
Vi suddenly asked, changing the subject.
"Why?"
Dina asked with a furrowed brow, suspicious.
"I just want to know"
She pressed, Dina simply sighed
"There was this thief, running from enforcers. He ran straight past me and lost them in an alleyway. They saw me with my hood up... You can figure out the rest"
Dina said briefly, shuffling her weight from one foot to the other as she kept her attention to the tiled floor, frustrated.
"And how does that make you feel?"
Vi asked, making Dina giggle slightly
"What are you, my therapist?"
She joked, Vi kept a blank expression and stared at Dina, waiting for an answer
"I don't know..."
She shrugged
Vi wasn't taking that for an answer, she approached Dina
"You do know, doesn't it make you angry?"
She said, entering Dina's personal bubble
"Just leave it alone, Vi"
Dina said, avoiding the woman's gaze
"Come on Dina, doesn't it piss you off that you're stuck in here, doing someone else's time for a crime you never commited?"
Vi wouldn't let up, and the blood within Dina began to boil, she needed Vi to drop this topic.
"There is a big chance you won't get out of here, Dina. While the real criminal is out there, enjoying pockets full of money from the shit he stole from the Pilte's. Does that not piss you off? Knowing that you're left with shitty prison food and even shittier people for the rest of your life. He doesn't care. Hell, he doesn't even know your name!"
Vi shoved Dina slightly, trying to get under her skin, and after a few provocative sentences, Dina snapped. She shoved Vi back harshly, letting out explosive force as she did.
"Yes! It pisses me off! My life is ruined because of that asshole. And do you know what is pissing me off more?!"
She started, approaching Vi, shoving her further and further back as she walked in her direction
"You don't know when to leave well enough alone! You just have to keep pressing me with this! Can't you see how much you're getting under my damn skin!"
She yelled, after one final shove, Vi felt her back hit against the wall behind her.
Instead of getting annoyed at Dina for shoving her, she simply smiled. This was the reaction she was looking for
"If I piss you off so much, then hit me"
She exclaimed, shoving her cellmate back in order to get some space between them. The way she shoved Dina made something in her snap, without a thought, she swung for Vi with all of her strength. landing a solid punch on Vi's jaw. The sound of the collision echoed through the room, and then silence.
