After retrieving the cross, Vi stuffed it into the back of her trousers and pulled her shirt over it, hiding it from everyone as they made their way into the refectory. The plan was to act natural and not draw attention, even if it failed last time. Dina felt much more relaxed this time, they cut past the queue together and got their food before heading to their usual table. Vi sat her tray down opposite from where Dina sat and looked at her.
"I'll be right back"
She said, caressing the back of Dina's hand as it laid on the table, making a show of affection before she took off towards the other end of the refectory and sitting with a group of inmates. Dina figured that Vi was going to trade the cross for the money she was owed and began chowing down on her food.

She couldn't help but look occassionally, an average sized man sat across from Vi, he didn't look like any of the inmates that were the size of a house and absolutely ripped. He didn't even look like he belonged in prison, the way he carried himself could only be described as how a businessman would. From what Dina could read from his lips, he spoke properly and professionally, he wasn't some gangster. He nodded at Vi as she slyly handed him the cross under the table, and slyly inspected it, making sure he wasn't being conned. Dina couldn't blame him for this, it was prison after all.

After pulling the sheathe back slightly and revealing part of the blade, the mans face lit up, he shoved it into his own pants with ease, concealing it before he held out his hand for Vi to shake. When she did so, she climbed to her feet and walked back over to Dina, taking a seat in front of her as she began eating.
"That looked like it went well"
Dina smiled
"It did, I gave him your inmate number, so you'll get your cut of the money"
"And you trust that he's going to cough it up?"
Dina asked, worried that Vi hadn't already recieved the money before the job.
"We may be getting a lot, but to this guy, we're getting peanuts. He wouldn't even miss the money, so yeah, I think he'll give us what we're owed"
Vi assured Dina before taking another bite of her food.
"How does someone get rich in the undercity?"
"That's because he's not from the undercity, he's a Pilte. Except, unlike the rest of them, he didn't make his money in an honest way. He didn't have a house or a sponsor to help him so he turned to making money the same way Zaunites do. The only difference is that he was better at it because of his fancy upbringing"
Vi explained before shovelling more food into her mouth, Dina simply nodded in understanding before eating her own food.

Once they had eaten their food, they had no other reason to loiter outside of their cell, so they headed back, satisfied with their productive day. When Vi and Dina got to their cell, Dina entered and sat on her bunk while Vi whistelled down the corridor, getting the attention of the C.O that stood at his post.
"We're done here, close the cell"
She said, the C.O simply nodded and waited for her to enter her cell before the doors clicked shut.
"Let me guess, another C.O that owes you a favour?"
Dina said as she slipped her boots off.
"Not this time... I think Sevika leaving was the best thing to happen to me, I've got her status now. Not all of the C.O's will care, but some of the soft-spined ones will, so there's a few guards that will actually do as I say, within reason of course. We've made an enemy of our light-fingered cross thief, so the doors being closed was just a precaution"
Vi explained before sitting down next to Dina and slipping off her own boots.
"Do you really think he'll retaliate?"
Dina asked, a bit of concern laced in her voice. Vi shook her head in response
"Just in case though..."
She finished before laying down and dragging Dina with her.

Dina fidgeted slightly before she was pulled into an embrace.
"What are you doing?"
She asked with a giggle, not that she was complaining.
"Am I not allowed to cuddle you?"
Vi asked in response
"Awww you're so cute"
As soon as Dina joked, Vi gently pushed her away.
"Fine, go find someone else to cuddle"
She said, pretending to be mad, but Dina simply moved back and laid her head on Vi's chest as her pink-haired lover laid on her back. She wrapped her arm around Dina and held her close as they laid with their legs tangled. While they laid there, they never spoke once, words weren't needed. It was nice to just lay there in silence, it was peaceful as Dina laid there, listening to Vi's heartbeat as she continued to rest her head on her chest. This was tranquility.
