Usually, when Dina woke up, she'd be frozen to the bone. The thin blankets weren't enough to warm her up through the night and the concrete box they slept in felt like it drew in more cold through the night. It was a feeling she became used to, but not one that she liked. When she woke up, she was expecting the bitter coldness to make her shiver, but it was surprisingly warm, it was like there was a heater next to her. Although she was confused, she was too tired to care, and decided to enjoy a few more minutes of warmth.

When she decided she was going to move, she rubbed her eyes before going to turn, before the realisation of an arm wrapped around her waist startled her. She didn't need to turn around to know who it belonged to. Vi's bandaged arm was around her, and it was in fact, her that was giving Dina such warmth.
"Vi?"
She whispered, confused. The last thing she remembered before falling asleep was turning down Vi's request to stay with her before climbing in to her own bed.

But Vi was injured! How did she slither into Dina's bed without her waking up? she was typically a light sleeper! Dina whispered Vi's name once more, earning a tired hum in response.
"What are you doing in my bed?"
After a moment of silence, Vi yawned before pulling Dina closer to her, forcing her to be the little spoon, which Dina didn't mind.
"You were shivering, and I couldn't sleep, so I helped"
She explained in a gravelly voice. It was clear she too had just woken up, and her morning voice was strangely attractive to Dina.

In the past, whenever Dina woke up, Vi would already be wide awake, working out before they headed for breakfast, it was practically a routine. But given her injuries, working out was out of the question for the time being.
"How are you feeling?"
Dina asked, taking Vi's hand and pulling it up towards her chest so she could hold it comfortably.
"My ribs hurt and my body is aching, but I'm okay"
Vi answered. They both went back to silence as they enjoyed each others prescence.

As Dina lied there, running her thumb over Vi's knuckles, she could feel her breathing on the back of her neck, it made the hair on her arms stand up as her thoughts travelled to inappropriate places. She quickly reeled herself back from those thoughts when she heard the cell gates open, signalling that it was time to get breakfast.
"Come on Vi, you should get cleaned up properly"
Dina said, sitting up slowly so she wouldn't hurt her cellmate. Vi nodded copied her, sitting up as she clutched her bruised rib.

Dina wasted no time in putting her boots on and standing up, she helped pull Vi to her feet and made sure she could walk okay. When she was sure that Vi was okay, she grabbed their toiletry bags and they both headed off to the showers.

Once at the showers, Vi leaned against one of the sinks and looked in the mirror in front of her, she wasn't impressed with what looked back at her, the guards really did a number on her this time. Heaving a sigh, she grabbed a tower and walked towards one of the showers, hiding a limp as she took the toiletry bag that Dina held out for her. When she was in the shower, she slowly got undressed, trying not to cause herself any more pain than she was in already.

Vi turned the valve on the wall once she was ready and cold water rained down on her body, making her gasp quietly before it began heating up. As well as the privacy, the morning was the best time to shower because there is a limited hot water supply, once the showers reached their daily maximum output of hot water, they would run cold for the rest of the day. It was a first come first serve type of thing, the same as everything else in this hellhole of a prison.
Vi leaned against the side of the shower cubicle, using the wall for support while she enjoyed the heat of the water.

Vi ran her hands through her pink hair, moving her soaked fringe from her eyes as she looked down, inspecting the bruise that covered a significant amount of her torso. She gently touched the bruise to check its tenderness and hissed in pain. This would take too long to heal, she needed to be in good shape before she could do anymore jobs and now that she can't, she was going to lose out on a lot of money. Since she was also caught, the problem of new enemies made her groan. Things were now so much harder than they needed to be, and it was her own fault for being careless after the job. People will know she's hurt, and some may try to take advantage of that.
