Chapter 34

After spending the past few days recovering from her run-in with the guards, Dina was finally back to normal, her bruises were fading and she felt normal again, ready to get back to work. She walked into the refectory on her own, she had told Vi she would meet her once she had stopped by the comissary. As she grabbed her food tray and stood in line, she looked around for her pink-haired lover, who was sitting in their usual spot. Dina wasn't the kind of person to cut a queue like Vi was so she just stood there patiently.

As she waited, she kept shooting glances at Vi, after a few glances she had gotten caught. Vi was looking back at her with a smirk, she seemed to look Dina up and down with the same smirk plastered on her face, she looked hungry for her lover, and Dina was not complaining. In fact, she contemplated doing a pose to torment her, but the dozens of inmates that were in the room with them made her abandon the idea as quickly as it entered her head. Finally, after what felt like forever, Dina had got her food. She could already tell that it was no longer warm and was probably one of the last servings of the tray she got it from, but she didn't care. No amount of warmth or freshness was going to make it taste any better.

She made her way over to Vi's table, quickly taking a seat in front of her as she felt as though they had spent too long apart. As she picked up her fork and started stuffing her mouth, Vi laughed.
"Someone's hungry"
She said with a giggle
"You're one to talk, I saw the way you were looking at me"
Dina made fun of her lover, expecting her to get embarrassed
"Of course, I can't help but picture some of the things I'd do"
Vi battled, winning victoriously as Dina's face turned red, but she wasn't stopping there
"Do you want to hear?"
She leaned forward, whispering in her lovers ear. Dina seemed to stay stiff as she stopped chewing, her heart racing and her face burning up.
"I'm gonna eat you for dinner"
Vi purred, making Dina choke on the food she hadn't quite swallowed. Her reaction made Vi burst into laughter as Dina tried composing herself.

The moment was one to remember, Dina's epic fail at embarrassing Vi as the tables get turned. Vi smiled at Dina as she relished in the moment, but the moment was short lived when something caught her eye from behind where Dina was sitting. When she looked, it wasn't a something, but a someone. A bald, tattoed guy sat a few tables down from Vi and Dina, keeping his head down as he ate. Vi began gripping her fork as she stared intensley at the man she recognised from years ago, he was with Silco the day Vi's family was killed. Dina noticed the change in Vi's attitude and looked at her in concern, holding the hand that was gripping the fork.
"Vi? Are you okay?"
She asked, without a word, Vi shot up to her feet, walking to the entrance of the refectory.

Dina thought she was leaving until she saw her pink-haired lover grab a food tray, she stormed back towards the table, passing it as she continued walking. Dina kept her eyes fixated on Vi's movements, she stopped dead in front of some bald guy that Dina had never seen before. As he looked up at her, his eyes widened, before his face was met with the same tray Vi had grabbed earlier. The contact between the metal tray and his face echoed throughout the refectory, all of the inmates snapped their attention towards the source of the noise as the bald man fell out of his seat, hitting the floor. Before he had the chance to move, Vi turned the tray upright before smashing the egde of it down into his face. The cracking sound of his jaw breaking could be heared from anywhere in the room, making Dina cringe as he lost consciousness there and then.

Before anyone reacted at Vi's action, she dropped the tray and walked off, heading towards the exit and leaving the refectory. Dina was quick to jump to her feet and follow, not understanding what had just happened mere seconds ago, she needed answers for an act this reckless.
