"I took a look at your file. There's no record of you or your crimes. What are you here for?"
The enforcer asked from outside the cell, it was like she never noticed Dina's presence, but Dina wasn't shocked. She was staying quiet for a reason, and that was reason was because the enforcer wasn't here for her, so there was no need to get involved. From just looking at the book the blue-haired woman held in her hand, Dina knew Vi wasn't going to take a beating from her, this was something else.
Vi paced the room back and forth as the enforcer asked her question before answering
"My sunny personality"
She answered, she looked at Dina slightly, taking note that her lover didn't want to get involved as she sat on the concrete bunk, covered by the darkness of the cell as she sat with her knees to her chest.
"You attacked an inmate, why?"
The woman continued interrogating Dina's pink-haired lover
"Why not?"
"He was a witness in an ongoing investigation"
"Hmm, bummer"
Vi's cagey behaviour reminded Dina of when she first got to Stillwater, the first time she entered Vi's cell, her lover was so cagey and her sentences were short, but she couldn't blame her. It's hard to just spill your guts to a stranger, especially in here.
The enforcer sighed and looked down slightly
"This was a waste of time"
She said before stepping away from the cell and turning away, ready to leave.
"Couldn't have put it better. Hey, give Silco a kiss on that winning eye of his, will you?"
Vi said, slowing her movements as she believed the conversation was finished. Surprisingly, the enforcer turned back, walking back towards the cell and being careful not to cross the red line painted along the floor.
"Silco? The industrialist?"
She asked, looking up at Vi.
"Okay, this is getting old. Can you just send in whoever's gonna kick the shit out of me, so I can get on with my night"
Vi said, turning her back to the enforcer.
The woman paused for a second, looking down at her book, opening it before stepping past the red line and holding the opened book up for Vi to see.
"Does this mean anything to you?"
She asked, Vi looked back at the book out of the corner of her eye, seeming uninterested before something caught her attention. She shot towards the bars to get a closer look, giving the enforcer a fright as she stepped back.
"Where did you get this?"
Vi asked, grabbing onto the bars as she tried to get a closer look, but the enforcer closed the book and holding it to her chest. The enforcer stood tall with a straight back, obviously trying to show some sort of authority as she spoke, Dina could tell from that alone that she wasn't your typical stuck-up enforcer.
"My question first, he worked for Silco?"
"Uh, they all do. How can anyone not know that? Where did you find this?"
Vi answered, quickly firing her own question, eager to get answers. Her sudden spark of interest in the book made Dina grow curious, what was in there that Vi cared so much about?
"There was an attack. This is evidence"
The enforcer answered, holding the book up as a gesture as she finished her sentence.
"I need proof if I'm to believe what you're saying about Silco"
The enforcer finished, making Vi sigh and lean her head against the bars.
"I could get it for you. Just not from in here"
She said, making the woman snicker
"In what mad world would I trust someone like you?"
"Someone like me?"
Vi exclaimed, offended at the womans words
"You enforcers are all the same. Just asshole criminals in fancy uniforms. You know what? Find Silco yourself."
"I will, thank you"
The woman siad before turning away from the cell and walking away.
Vi sat up from leaning on the bar for a second while she shifted positions, looking at the enforcer as she walked away.
"Hmm... Undercity's gonna eat you alive."
As soon as those words left Vi's mouth, the enforcer stopped in her tracks, sighing and taking a deep breath before continuing down the hall. Leaving Vi on her own.
When they were alone, Vi turned to face Dina, who had now finally stood up from her concrete slab.
"What now?"
Dina asked
"Nothing, she clearly doesn't need my help"
Vi shrugged before walking over to her own bunk and taking a seat.
"What was in that book that made you so interested in what she had to say?"
Dina asked, Vi simply sighed before looking up at her lover.
"One of the pictures looking like my sisters work, back when Vander and everyone died, she set off a monkey bomb to try and save us. Which lead to my family's death. I thought she died, but this changes things. I need to find her, but it doesn't matter now"
Vi explained, looking down at the floor once she had finished speaking, it was obvious that she was hurt now she'd never be able to get answers. Dina simply took a seat next to Vi, hugging into the side of her as she comforted her.
A/N: I know everyone already knows this, but I'm worried about getting slammed with copyright. I do not own the script of Vi and Caitlyn's conversation, I'm not sure if something like that can even get copyrighted but better safe than sorry. I hope you're all enjoying the book and expect another chapter soon!"
