Chapter 32

The two prisoners made it back to their cell just in time, rushing in and sitting down just before the guards began checking each cell. Dina sighed before looking at her lover in concern
"How's your throat?"
She asked while Vi unwrapped her hands.
"It's alright, he didn't get me long enough to hurt me"
She said, taking the rubbing alcohol that Dina had gotten a while ago and pouring it over the fresh grazes on her knuckles. Now that she was doing it herself, she didn't seem to react the way she did when Dina treated her wounds, but that could have been down to being in control of cleaning her wounds.
"You did good today"
Vi complimented before wrapping her hands in fresh bandages,
"Yeah?"
Dina asked, surprised to hear a compliment.
"Yeah, I didn't know you had it in you to break a few bones, especially the way you snapped that dudes arm. It was scary to see that side of you, but hot at the same time"
"You love to fear me"
Dina joked, making Vi laugh.

Dina slipped off her boots and laid down, exhausted from today's action, and Vi was quick to join her. As Dina laid on her back, Vi laid next to her, leaning over her as she gave her a slow and gentle kiss. Dina raised her hand and caressed Vi's cheek gently in this moment of passion as they enjoyed each other's taste. Before things could get too heated, Vi pulled away and laid down, resting her head on Dina's chest.
"I think it's my turn to be cuddled"
She said, sighing in relief as she managed to find comfort on the concrete slab. Without feeling the need to annoy Vi and make a joke, Dina simply ran her fingers through her lovers soft, pink hair. Vi simply closed her eyes and enjoyed the moment they were in.
"Why didn't you tell me that you were comfy, I would have done this sooner"
Vi said, snuggling in and draping her arm over Dina's stomach.
"Well I wasn't going to know that, was I?"
Dina giggled
"Whatever, I can hear your heartbeat"
Vi said, closing her eyes once more as Dina shifted her arm, using her finger to trace the outline of the tattoo that ran up Vi's arm.
"Oh yeah? What does it sound like"
Dina asked, Vi smiled and began tapping the tempo of Dina's heartbeat onto her skin
"Like that... It's relaxing"
Vi yawned, Dina couldn't help but smile widely at this moment.

Despite an evening of violence, the two still managed to return to their cell and engage in one of the most innocent moments Dina had been in, it was pure happiness to her, if only they weren't trapped in a prison. As Dina returned her attention to running her fingers through Vi's hair, softly rubbing her scalp in a relaxing manner, she noticed that Vi hadn't moved or said anything in a while. When she looked down, Vi was sleeping soundly, her breathing was almost silent as her body laid limp. That was one good thing about sleeping next to Vi... She didn't snore.

While Dina and Vi were sleeping soundly through the night, they had somehow moved into a position where Dina was cuddling Vi, who was happily accepting being a small spoon for her lover. The sound of a cell door opening startled the pair out of their sleep, when they both shot up. Three enforcers entered their cell, Dina knew exactly what this meant after Vi was dragged off the last time.
"Can't a girl get her beauty sleep?"
Vi asked, raising her hand to shield her eyes from the oppressive shine of a flashlight that shone into the cell.
"Get up, 516, there's been another jumping with your name all over it"
One of the C.O's said, entering the cell and grabbing her arm, as she tried to resist arrest, Dina jumped to her feet.
"Wait! She didn't do anything. Check her hands if you don't believe me... Do you see any scuffs or blood marks on her?"
Dina said, when he looked down, there was no such mark in sight.

Dina was well aware that Vi had changed her bandages earlier, so there was nothing that tied her to the crime.
"Three inmates were naming the two of you, so whether there's any signs of proof or not, you're coming with us.
The C.O demanded, pulling Vi to her feet while another grabbed Dina. Out of fear of the state Vi had returned in before, she struggled free and shoved Vi out of the hands of the C.O
"I'm serious, I acted alone. Vi had nothing to do with this"
Dina said, standing in front of her to protect her, Vi's eyes simply widened in both disbelief and shock
"Dina, don't do this"
She said, trying to push past her lover only to be shoved back, Dina was stronger than she looked.
"Don't make this harder than it needs to be"
She said, caressing her lovers face before stepping away from her. The C.O happily bound her with cuffs, glad to have gotten their pound of flesh to make an example of before dragging her out of the cell.

As Dina asked, Vi didn't make the situation harder than it needed to be for her lover and stood there, although every fibre of her being wanted to fight, she had no choice. As the cell doors clicked shut, Vi could only hope that Dina's lack of hostility would help her later on with the guards.

I forgot to add originally, but I'm giving rightfully earned credit to Jordan_Maybank for their idea on Dina taking the fall for Vi. This idea was a great one because since Vi already took one for Dina, it shows how mutual their relationship is. They both are willing to protect each other no matter the cost and with how Vi didn't act after Dina told her not to, she trusts her lovers word and would do anything for her, even if it was hard to let her get dragged away. So thank you for the idea Jordan_Maybank!
