Chapter 15

"I've got a job to take care of, do you want to come along and get some experience?"
Vi asked, it had been a few days since Vi had stole a kiss from Dina. They were sitting in their cell, waiting to be let out for dinner.
"Sure, I don't see why not"
Dina said, sitting up to put her boots on.
"Don't freak out, but this job is for one of the C.O's. Before you call me crazy, if we make good on this job, the C.O will owe us. There's no better perk than having a C.O wrapped around your finger"
Vi explained as she leaned against the bars of the cell, looking out into the corridor.

Footsteps could be heard approaching the cell, and when Dina looked up, she saw a female C.O standing in front of Violet.
"Did you put my money in yet?"
Vi asked in a hushed tone
"Yeah, I did it before I came here"
The C.O assured her
"How do I know you're not lying"
"I wouldn't screw you over when I'm the one who needs your help, now are you doing this or not?"
The C.O asked, it was almost like she didn't notice Dina sitting there, because when she did, her face dropped.
"Who's this?"
She asked, panicked.
"My new partner, you can trust her. Now let us out so we can get this done"

Suddenly, the cell door clicked and slid open, giving Dina and Vi freedom, well, some of it anyway. Vi cracked her neck as she left the cell, waiting for Dina to follow before they all headed towards the lift.
"So, what are we doing?"
Dina asked once they had entered the lift and the doors had closed, shielding them from prying ears.
"You didn't tell her? I thought you trusted her"
The C.O complained
"Look, sweetheart. If you want this job done, you should probably stop questioning everything I do, because you're the one who has shit to lose here"
Vi warned the officer, giving her an intimidating glare before turning her attention back to Dina.
"When everyone gets let out of their cell and heads for dinner. We're going to wait in one of the rooms that connect to the main corridor. When our target passes, we're going to grab him and his cellmate, who are close if you catch my meaning. They'll be together as they head for their food. We'll drag them into the room while the halls are busy and send them on a nice trip to the infirmary before they are able to expose our dear C.O associate here"
She explained, patting the C.O on the back.

As the lift stopped and the doors opened, the three entered into an empty hallway, there were no C.O's on site yet, but that's probably because they weren't needed for another half an hour yet. The C.O lead Vi and Dina to a locked door, she fumbled with the keys before unlocking the door and opening it, allowing them to enter the room and hide. Once they entered, she walked down the hallway, leaving them alone since she didn't want to risk being tied to the incident that would soon unfold.

Vi switched on a nearby lamp, giving the two inmates a source of light, but not enough to attract attention from the shine that would emit from under the door.
"Oh, don't forget. We want to break bones, specifically the ones in their jaw. A man can't speak with a broken jaw"
Vi said, looking around for anything they could use to make the job easier. She saw a metal pipe laying on one of the worktops, quite a perfect coincidence  if it were one. But seeing as the C.O didn't know of Dina's involvment, there wasn't a second weapon. Vi sighed, knowing she'd have to get bloody knuckles from this job as she approached Dina, giving her the pipe.

Dina was oddly quiet, which was unusual since she had grown talkative lately due to their developing relationship. This unsettled Vi, as Dina took the pipe, she simply looked down at it, not saying a word.
"We have another twenty minutes to kill"
Vi informed Dina, who nodded in response.
"Hey, are you okay?"
Vi asked, resting her hand gently on Dina's shoulder, when her cellmate looked up, she looked distressed.
"I don't know how I feel about this..."
She admitted, nerves coursing through her veins.
"The first job will always be the hardest, but it gets easier, you get used to it"
Vi assured her, but she just shook her head
"This isn't something I do, I don't hurt people. It's not who I am"
Dina said, letting her arms fall to her side as she let the pipe dangle in her hand.

Vi sighed, not knowing how to convince her that this was something she'd need to get used to.
"Look, you don't have to do this, I'm not going to make you. But this is the best choice you can make in this prison. Doing things like this will make you untouchable"
She said, pausing for a second to sigh and look at the floor in embarrassment.
"I don't want you to get hurt, and I can't always be there to protect you. You have to build your own reputation"
Dina looked up finally, looking directly into Violet's eyes, she had realised that after all this time, Vi really did care. She knew she was good natured, but this was something else. Before she could comment, Vi moved in, kissing her.

This one was gentle compared to the last one, and more genuine. After a moment of shock, Dina melted into the kiss, bringing her arms up and wrapping them around Vi's neck as the pink-haired inmate rested her hands on Dina's waist. They both took the time to enjoy the kiss. They hadn't even noticed the clang of the pipe when Dina dropped it, they simply didn't care. Vi pulled Dina closer to her, deepening the kiss, which she reacted to with a muffled moan, she had wanted this for so long. After a few more moments of enjoying each other's taste, Vi pulled away, looking at Dina now that they were closer than ever before. Her cellmate was beaming red, but she also noticed the colour in her eyes as they glistened under the soft lighting of the lamp, showing nothing but pure desire. Vi felt her ears get really warm after realising what she had just done and she pulled away, finally, taking a step back.

The pair let out heavy breaths as they composed themselves, and before Dina could ask any questions, the sound of inmates roaming the halls pulled them back to the task on hand.
"Looks like my timing was wrong. Get ready"
