[Chapter 10 - You can let go daddy, I'm a butterfly]

Tenzin was way too tired to stay in Zaofu until his daughter will be okay. His heart broke every time he looked at her. His little girl was trying every day to walk again or to use her hands again. It's like when she was a baby and Pema had to teach her how to walk, but now was different, Pema couldn't teach Ikki again how to walk and Ikki wouldn't let anyone except Kya, Rohan or Lin to stay with her.

Lin. The strongest woman I've ever met. The woman who didn't want to marry me. That woman. Tenzin thought again at his first love.

Besides Ikki, he was thinking of Lin Beifong too.

I'm too old to love now. he joked

He was never supposed to marry Lin and if back then they would got married he would never have those beautiful children.

Maybe your children would be cooler if they were Lin's children. a voice from his mind said

He just shook his head and he walk to the spot where Ikki and Kya were training.

" C'mon Ikki, you can do it!" Kya shouted

The airbender looked at her hopeful auntie and she tried to stand up. She puted her hands on the two beams that were in front of her.

Tenzin looked so proud when he saw Ikki standing up.

" You know, she's a very strong girl. "

Lin looked at the woman who stands beside him.

" Lin?"

" What? Have I something on my face? "

" No, but why you're here?"

" Ikki wanted me to stay with her today."

" Oh, I see."

" No offense. "

" It's okay, anyway, I think she really likes you. And last night you made her so happy."

" What? You were spying me?"

"N-no, " he lied

Lin raised her eyebrows.

" Oh-kay, I just wanted to see how she felt and um..I don- I um- Really- um.."

" You spied us. " Lin said laughing

" Why you're laughing?"

" You're too old to spy, Tenzin. Trust me. "

" Right. I'm too old. " Tenzin whispered for himself

The both benders looked at the girl who both loved so much: Ikki.

The girl tried to walk with Kya's help she was capable of walking some seconds, but nothing more.

An earthquake occurred because of the volcano near the city. Ikki lose her balance and she fell down. Tenzin hurried to catch her and Lin was behind him.

Ikki looked with admiration at her dad , then she said "It's okay now daddy, you can let go. "

A tear fell from Tenzin's right eye but Ikki didn't see it. However, the protector dad, put his little girl on her wheel-chair.

" Something is wrong," Lin said

" What could be wrong?" Kya asked scared

Lin looked careful in the distance until she saw something.

" He. " Lin said looking at the man who was coming

" Zaheer?" Kya asked shocked

" How he escaped? He was in the best prison -"

" Don't panic, Tenzin. I'll take care of him. "

" Lin, what you're doing?"

" She's saving our butt again. " Ikki said sadly looking at Lin who left them here.

Tenzin looked at his girl and he understood what she said.

" Okay, let get out of here. " Kya said trying to push Ikki's wheel-chair

Ikki looked at the garden where Huan was sculpting and he was still there.

Ikki smiled, but suddenly her smile was gone.

A giant rock was almost crushing him.

" HUAN!" Ikki yelled

The young metalbender looked at the airbender. Then he saw the stone too. But he thought it was too late.

Ikki's cheeks were invaded by tears and she felt a huge pain.

Only if I could move my arms...she thought

That's it! I have to do this, for Huan.

" I can do this. " the airbender whispered

She closed her eyes and she tried to stay strong.

With all her power she moved one finger, then a hand and finally, she moved her both hands. She made an air blast that pushed Huan aways from stone's way.

" Ikki? you did that?" Kya whispered terrified

" Ikki how could you do that?" Tenzin asked

" I- I don't know, but now..it feels like 100 pins in my hands " Ikki cried

" It's normal, sweetie. You pushed yourself to hard!" Kya said hugging he niece

Tenzin looked at his daughter and he smiled, remembering one funny-sad story about his little girl.

" Daddy? "

" What is it, Ikki?"

" I wanna be like a butterfly. "

" What?"

" I wanna be like a -"

" I heard. But why you want that?"

" Because a butterfly is the most beautiful creatue in the world. It has those gorgeous wings painted in all these beautiful colors and they can fly everywhere. I really wanna fly. And I really wanna be beautiful and important like a butterfly. "

" Honey, you're already grogeous and you're an airbender, you can fly. "

" Whatever you say but someday I'll be a butterfly and I will be stronger and I'll fly everywhere with my soulmate. "

" Soulmate?"

" Yes, my soulmate. "

" And who's your soulmate?"

" Huan Beifong. "

" What? He's too old for my little baby."

" I'm not little anymore, daddy. I'm 12. I'm old too. Okay, I know he's much older than me but I'll grow up fast, I promise. "

Tenzin laughed, he looked at his little girl, she really had big dreams.

" Let's go inside. " he said trying to took her hand

" It's okay now daddy, you can let go. " she said running in the house

Tenzin smiled.

He would be never capable to let his little girl go.

Tenzin shook his head and he looked again at Ikki, she smiled looking in Huan's direction.

Maybe he's her soulmate.

But then they had more problems that the love story between Huan and Ikki.

Zaheer was there.
