[Chapter 20 - Truth]

Tenzin was looking with anger at his kids. He never really approved that relation between Ikki and Huan and now they're gonna marry each other.

" He proposed. " Ikki said one more time

" When?"

" Yesterday, dad, look I wanted to tell you-"

" But you haven't. "

" It's not a big deal, really-"

"NOT A BIG DEAL? YOU'RE ENGAGED AND IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL? "

" Calm down-"

" You have no right to tell me to calm down, young lady! "

" Sorry, Master-Tenzin-of-all-the-airbenders-who-is-to-angry-with-his-little-girl-all-the-time. "

" Ikki. "

" Whatever. Now you know, so what?"

" Nothing, but you have to tell to the others too. "

" Sure." the airbender girl said confused, her dad wasn't a calm person.

" So, why you're so nervous, Lin?" Kya asked her friend

" You shouldn't have been trying by now with Korra?" the chief tried to change the subject

Lin's daughter was supposed to arrive in 20 minutes and the chief was like a tornado. The whole morning she didn't eat anything and she was trembling in her room. The waterbender was just looking at her while she tried to make a conversation.

" Look, Lin if you-"

" NOTHING'S WRONG!"

" Um, yeah. "

The expression from Kya's face was enough for Lin to understand that the waterbender knew something.

" What do you know, Kya?"

" About your past full of lies, about your broken heart or about your daughter, Lin?! Because I know you, we were best friends! "

" How do you know about...hers? I never told anyone except Toph. "

" I know you. You were ill Lin so I asked your mom what happened to you because you haven't told me and Toph said the truth. "

" You were pissing her?"

" Of course, it was about my friend so I had to know to answer. "

" Right. So why you haven't tell anyone?"

" Why would I? I'm your friend, not the enemy, plus it's not my right to tell. "

" Thanks. "

" For what?"

" For being here even if I rejected you all these years. "

" No problem, but can I ask you something?"

" Sure, I guess. You're like a pain in the butt, I can't escape from you. "

The waterbender laughed at Lin's words, then she asked Lin the one question she was afraid.

" Why you haven't told Tenzin?"

The chief sighed.

" It's...it's complicated. "

" You'll have to tell him one day. "

" I will, but not today. "

" Whatever. "

Lin was waiting for Lyun near the train station and when she saw her daughter, she cried.

A beautiful young woman was standing in front of Lin, her hair was long and dark, she had Tenzin's eyes and her mother facial expression. She was dressed in earth kingdom clothes but with the air nation colors.

" Hi, mom. "

" Kiddo.," Lin said hugging her daughter

" I missed you, chief. "

" I-i t-think I've missed you too.."

" You really meant that?"

" Of course, silly. "

The strong independent woman was crying in front of a girl.

Her girl.
