Primo still showed up the next day. That day, everyone seemed to be trying their best to forget about what happened. Laurene's gone wholly cold towards me (as if she hadn't since) but that does not concern me anymore. As if someone picked my feelings for her and throw it away from my system.

"Two of the players of this team graduated this March. So does that give you an idea kung ilan lang kukunin namin?"

I watched each of their faces nod and filled with determination; Primo looked outcast, like he didn't want to be here anymore.

"Each one of you are still gonna go under some tests and observations bago kami makapili ng mga papalit sa dalawa. How many of your are freshmen?"

Everyone raised their hands; Coach Garcia puts his arm on waist and nods fervently. "Then are you all aware that the 'UW-early Olympics' will start not until October, right?"

"May game ba ngayon?" bulong ko sa katabi at tinanguan niya lang ako. "I hope it's quick. Marami pa akong gagawin."

He agreed and wished the same thing.

"Enough talking, now, everyone stand up." We shuffled to our positions. "I want you to form a pair again and we'll do a singles each team. Bawat isang team ay may mago-observe na old player, is that okay?"

"Yes coach!"

Coach ogled the six of us; we nodded fervently. "Now, go to each court and start playing! I think one or another one hour is enough! Go!"

Dahil twelve lang ang natira sa bente kahapon, each team has one observer and malas pa na natapat ako kung saan nandoon si Primo. He seemed surprise too when Coach pushed me to their area. His pair only nodded with reverence, Primo did not do anything.

"I heard what happened yesterday, Miguel." he whispers that raised hairs behind my neck. "I saw how this student is good; he has a high chance going in, settle what happened down para walang problema."

"But coac—"

"Go. Nawawala iyong oras na hiningi ko para magamit ang buong court. We need to train them immediately, kahit matagal pa, but you know, it's better to train them as soon as possible." then he leaves.

Naiwan na nakaawang ang labi ko.

"Start na po ba?" I jumped but I gave them a signal.

Sinubukan ko tawagin ang atensyon ng ka-teammate para makipagpalit pero sinenyasan niya lang si Coach at takot na bumalik sa panonood.

"Fuck..." Primo caught that and missed a point.

In the end, I had no choice. My mind is flying the whole time but that didn't stop me from observing them carefully. Primo's partner seemed to lose its skills yesterday but they both had 20 points. The rules stated that whoever got the first two points on lead is the winner: and that's Primo.

"Good job!" I called them together the same time others wrapped up. They stood near me all sweaty and panting. "Maganda ang execution ng movements mo but something is clearly bothering you. Don't worry, I think there's still chance for you to redeem yourself, okay?"

He raised his thumb; we faced Primo and he's not looking at me. "You better be thankful that in spite of your anger I don't care of, magaling ka kanina. Matagal ka na bang naglalaro?"

"Yes."

"Good. But you still lack on something; we can patch it up next time! Good job."

Hindi niya ako binalingan ng tingin at pinanood ko lamang siya na lumabas kasama ang ilang freshmen. Coach offered some foods to us and we stayed a while; Primo vanished when other sports students came in.
