"You ready?" Ben said as we approached the door.
"Pfffftt- no..." I said half serious
"Eh too late, they already know we're here."
After he said that the door flew open,
"Welcome to our lovely casita!" A girl with round green glasses said excitedly.
I noticed her dress was embroidered with butterflies and flowers, not something I would wear but it was cute. She suddenly grabbed my hand after greeting my uncle and pulled me into the house.
"I'm Mirabel, you're name is Y/N right?" She asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"Anyways this is the kitchen," she said as we entered a room, "and this lovely woman is my mom, Julieta. She can heal anyone with her cooking."
"Hi." I gave Julieta a small wave, but I was then pulled back out of the room. We were walking up the stairs when I saw a woman wearing a yellow dress, and a man next to her.\
"Oh this is my tia Pepa, she can control the weather with her mood, and tio Felix, her husband. " Mirabel introduced me to them.
"Have I met you before? I swear I've seen you somewhere." Pepa asked.
"Er- I don't think so?" I said.
"Well it's nice to finally meet you." Felix said as his wife nodded in agreement.
With that Me and Mirabel continued around the hall when we ran into someone on the ground.
"Bruno? What are you doing on the ground?" Mirabel questioned.
"I was feeding the rats but you scared them away." He said as he got up from the ground.
"Oh... anyways this is my tio Bruno, he can see the future."
"Mirabel who is this?" Bruno said just noticing my presence.
"Did Abuela not tell you about Y/N? She's Ben's niece, she came to live with Ben to learn to control her gift."
"Eh she may have said something about that. Anyways nice to meet you... I guess." Bruno said awkwardly sticking his hand out for me to shake. I took his hand, it was really awkward but I appreciated the gesture.
"Alright, let's go see my sisters." Mirabel said gesturing for me to follow
"Ok." I said
"Sorry about that, Bruno's still getting used to being around people again."
"Again."
"Well- he kinda left but didn't really leave and lived inside the walls until a couple months ago." She shrugged, "Here's my oldest sister, Isabela's, door."
She knocked on the door.
Time skip bought to you by Camilo imitating Felix
Before I knew it I was about to meet the last Madrigal, other than Abuela of course.
"This is Camilo's door, he's my cousin and he's the same age as us." She knocked on the door, "He has shapeshifting powers... Is he not in his room? Casita where is he?"
To my surprise the railing by the door began to move, it pointed at his door.
"So he is in there? Why isn't he answering? Camilo!" She shouted, no response, she scratched the back of her head in confusion, "You'll see him later at dinner I guess?"
Camilo's POV
I sat in my room for a while after Abuela had told us that Y/N was coming in an hour or so. I was unsure of what I would do with myself when she got here so I pretty much hid.
I heard footsteps from outside of my door, then I heard Mirabel's muffled voice all i could make out was,
"Casita where is he?"
and,
"Camilo! You'll see him later at dinner I guess?"
I'm exactly sure myself why I didn't open the door, I'm just nervous. Maybe? I've never been this scared to talk to someone, I mean of course I've been nervous to talk to someone, but not enough to hide from them. What if she doesn't like me? I mean I don't really know who I am, so what if she hates me for that.
Just then I heard Abuela call for Mirabel, dinner was starting soon, very soon
Y/N POV
We went back downstairs to the kitchen, where we found Ben helping Julieta along with someone who I assumed was Alma, or Mirabel's Abuela.
"Oh, Y/N I'm Alma Madrigal, we're pleased to have you here in our home. Mirabel did you introduce everyone to Y/N?" Alma asked Mirabel.
"I think so." Mirabel responded
"Did you introduce Pepa?"
"Yes."
"Felix?"
"Mhm."
"Bruno?"
"Yup."
"Julieta?"
"Yes."
"Agustin?"
"No I think he's out in the town."
"Luisa?"
"Yes."
"Isabela?"
"Yes."
"Dolores?"
"Yes."
"Antonio?"
"Yes."
"Camilo?"
"Uhh actually about that, we knocked on his door but he didn't respond, and then I asked Casita where he was. Then it said he was in his room, so I called his name but no response." Mirabel told Alma.
At that moment a man ran in the room, he looked as if he'd been stung by an entire hive of bees. He noticed me as he walked over to Julieta.
"Wait is this Y/N? Oh my I haven't seen you in a long time!" He said shaking my hand ecstatically.
"Have we met before?" I said totally lost.
"Oh well you were very young, anyways I'm Mirabel's father, Agustin."
"Agustin! You got stung again?" Julieta said exasperatedly.
"Heh." Agustin gave a nervous chuckle.
"Well we're starting dinner soon, so Mirabel I want you to go get Camilo." Alma said
Mirabel left the room and I helped set up the table with my uncle.
Camilo's POV
I don't know how but I found myself holding the rose again, even after all these years it still looked brand new. Then a knock came from my door causing me to jump and almost drop it.
"Camilo I know you're in there. I don't why you're hiding in there but it's time for dinner, Abuela wants you downstairs now. So you have three seconds. Three..." Mirabel shouted through the door.
I quickly hid the rose.
"Two...
I walked towards the door
"One..."
I opened the door before Mirabel could and caused her to trip.
"I was sleeping not hiding Mirabel." I said completely lying.
"Oh well come on" She said as she headed to the stairs.
