(I swear he has the cutest smile also just a warning this chapter is kinda sad)
Camilo POV
"Wait, please."
I stopped and turned around to see the girl standing exactly where she stood before but she was reaching her hand out to me. I hesitantly took a few steps forward and took her hand in mine.
"Please tell me what the hell is going on..." She paused for a moment, "Everyone keeps saying things like, 'I haven't seen you forever' or, 'have we met before?' And just now you ask me if I remember. Remember what? Have we met before?"
She looked at me expectantly, her grasp on my hand weakened when I didn't respond. I said nothing for a while. I tightened my grip on her hand and pulled her to my door. She looked at me confused. We entered my room and I let go of her hand and walked over to the painting of the rose. As I took it off the wall it transformed into the crystal rose.
Y/N POV
As Camilo brought me into his room he let go of my hand, I took that moment observe my surroundings. The room was in constant motion, each object ever changing, except for a select few. Looking up the ceiling was a perfect replication of the night sky.
As I focused my attention back on Camilo he was walking over to a painting of a rose, it almost looked out of place in his room. He reached out and grabbed it off the wall, but as he cradled it in his grasp it changed. Into a rose, a crystal rose.
At the sight of it waves of emotions I couldn't explain flooded through my bones. Camilo went to the center of his room and set the flower on the ground and stepped back.
As the flower touched the floor, the room glowed as it transformed, I was taken back to that day that I believed to be a dream. The two children ran around laughing, one chasing the other trying to catch up. Then I saw the two as the girl formed a rose out of crystal and gifted it to the boy. Then I saw the girl waving goodbye to the boy as she left.
The room shifted again, I saw the boy in the corner of this very room crying as his mother approached him.
"Camilo, what's wrong?" His mother asked sitting close to him.
"Is... is she ever coming back?" The boy responded his voice breaking as he tried to form the sentence.
"She- she'll come back some day pequeño hombre."
The mother embraced her child trying to calm him, he hid his face in his mother's neck. Then it faded away. All that was left was present Camilo, hands around his knees looking down.
I didn't realize it but warm tears had gravitated down my face, I slowly stepped towards him,
"I... I don't really know what to say, " I nervously laughed as I sat down next to him, we brushed shoulders but neither of us moved back, "Well I guess I do, I can't believe I forgot all of that. I've had dreams of that day actually, except it was dream, so I couldn't really see your face. Look.. I'm sorry-"
"Don't be." he said cutting me off, "It's not your fault."
"I didn't mean to forget, or want to, but my childhood just feels like a blur. These past years everything just got complicated and I didn't have the energy to think of when I was actually happy." My voice broke at my last word, "Truth is I haven't been able to make a crystal in years, actually 8 years to be exact."
"I guess we both kinda fell apart as we got older." He sarcastically laughed
"Yeah."
"I don't know why but... even though I haven't seen you in forever... I feel like I can just let go in front of you."
After that we both drifted off into a comfortable silence, just soaking up each others presences. I felt his drop onto my shoulder as he fell asleep, eventually I dozed off too.
Mirabel's POV
Where the hell did Y/N go, she told me she was going to the bathroom, AN HOUR AGO. I checked the bathroom, no sign of her, so as my last resort I made my way to Dolores' room.
I was about to knock but she opened the door before I could,
"What do you need Mirabel?" She asked
"Uh have you like heard Y/N somewhere, she said she was going to the bathroom an hour ago and hasn't come back?" I said worriedly, "What if someone kidnapped her?!"
"Mirabel she's fine, she's with Camilo in his room."
"Thank god- wait what?!" I gasped, "Why? Wasn't he like JUST acting really weird around her???"
"They're- hm...reconnecting."
"Reconnecting?"
"Yeah did you not know that they used to be best friends before she left? Neither did she actually."
"They knew each other?!" I whisper yelled in surprise.
"Yes, now if you wouldn't mind I'd like to get some sleep." She said as she yawned, "Oh and leave Y/N she'll talk to you tomorrow."
What the fuck.
A/N
That was an emotional rollercoaster to write I keep seeing baby Camilo crying. That is so fucking sad.
