Lose You

"Sure thing." He said giving his mom a thumbs up, then gesturing to me, "Come on."

As we walked I looked around trying to remember everything for next time I had to walk back alone. The streets were already busy with people, Camilo had already been greeted by several people even though we hadn't been walking long.

"Jeez everyone knows you." I said.

"Hm wonder why?" He said with a sarcastic tone

"Yeahh..."

"So what were you and Mirabel gossipi- sorry, talking about."

"Nothing important."

"Oh so you weren't talking about me, because I'm so obviously important."

"Actually we were talking about you." I said smugly.

"AHA I knew it!" He exclaimed. "So what about me were you saying?"

I stayed silent mentally cursing myself.

"Nothing." I finally said.

"That's not how conversations work. You see you kinda have to say something." he smirked.

"Camilo Madrigal, you are stressful."

"It's my real talent, other than, you know, shapeshifting."

We walked in silence for a while, but a gush of people began to pass us. I lost sight of Camilo, I could only see people I didn't know. I was lost in a matter of seconds.

Camilo POV

"We're almost to your uncle's house." I said to Y/N

When I got no response, I looked around me, but Y/N wasn't anywhere in sight. I started to panic, how did I lose her? I frantically searched around my general area then I heard someone call my name.

"Camilo!" I hopefully looked over at them, it was just a kid. Damn. I waved to the kid as they passed me.

"Y/N!" I started calling out to her.

Y/N POV

I was pretty sure he'd notice I was gone, I think, I laughed at the thought of him arriving at my uncle's house without me. I sat down on the side of the street and waited for him. Then I heard my name being called in the distance. I quickly stood up,

"Camilo?" I called out.

I stood on the tips of my toes to see over the crowd. I saw a tall man suddenly shrunk down into a boy with curly brown hair. Bingo. Found him. Camilo emerged from the crowd,

"I found you." He exclaimed when he saw me.

"Nah, you lost me, I found you." I said.

"You didn't even do anything! You just sat there waiting for me to find you... oh."

"I did the most logical thing to do when lost so technically I'm the reason you found me, so I found you."

"What..."

I shrugged.

After a second we started walking again, I noticed Camilo was walking closer to me this time. I felt his hand slip into mine, I looked at him with wide eyes,

"Don't want to lose you again." He said with a small smile.

My stomach squirmed as butterflies erupted in my stomach from his touch, I awkwardly looked away. But still it made me smile, of course I don't want him to see that though, or I'd never hear the end of it.
