Chapter 3 - Highest bidder

Scarlett's POV:

It had been over a week since Lizzie and I met Y/n in the park, and I hadn't stopped thinking about her. I felt a bit creepy at this point. But despite Lizzie's insistence, I hadn't taken the steps to try and find a way to contact her. It was a constant battle in my head. Every time I would think about doing it, doubt got the better of me. She had a kid, was she with someone, was she even into women. And I know what Lizzie would say, how would you know without finding out, but I think I was worried that the answers to those questions wouldn't be what I wanted to hear.

This is when I'm grateful for the busy work schedule. Being in the middle of filming Captain America: Civil War, meant that most days were spent on set, allowing me to distract myself from my thoughts. 

It was after a 14 hour day on set on Wednesday that the Russo brothers called us in for a meeting. I walked into the meeting room to be greeted by Lizzie, both Chris Evans and Hemsworth, RDJ and Tom Holland. "So, anyone know why we're here?" I asked pulling up a seat next to Robert. "No idea, Tom have you been spilling spoilers again?" Evans asked causing the others to laugh. "One, that's rude and two... I don't even know what happens." We all laughed knowing that Tom only gets the scripts for the scenes he is in.

Our suspense didn't last long as Joe and Anthony joined us taking seats at the head of the table. "Thanks for joining us, I know it's been a long day and you just want to head home. But we have something to thank you for the hard work the 6 of you have been putting in over the last few weeks." We all looked at each other still confused.

"My brother and I have been supporting the Injured Soldier's Trust for the last couple of years and always attend the annual charity dinner. This year's dinner is on Saturday and we have bid on a table and, as the highest bidders, won the honour of first table which means we'll get the VIP treatment. However, we're not able to attend as we have to head to New York for business. In our place, we'd like to offer the table to you." Joe pauses to gauge our reaction. "So, you're saying that you want us to attend a free fancy dinner which you have paid for?" Hemsworth asked.

"Exactly. It has always helped when celebrities attend as it raises the charities profile. The evening is always great fun and is very private, except for the small bit of press at the start of the night. I should probably mention it's also a free bar." Anthony adds. "I'm in!" Both Tom and Evans shout.

"We know it's last minute, but we don't want the table to go to waste and we know you'll all have a great time, all whilst raising money for a great cause. So, what do you say?" Anthony looks around the table and we all agree to attend.

"Fantastic, everything is all arranged so you just need to figure out what you're wearing. The theme is black and white so dress accordinly. I'll drop you all a text with the details. Make sure you have fun!" Joe concludes as we get up and head home, finally able to finish for the day.

Time skip to Saturday. (Still Scarlett's POV)

Lizzie and I had agreed to get ready together and arrange the whole works, hair, makeup and stylist. As we were sat getting our hair done we were sat in comfortable silence, but I could see Lizzie glancing over every now and then but not saying anything.

"Are you going to say something or just keep staring?" I ask making eye contact with the brunette in the mirror. "I don't want to make you mad or anything, but have you thought anymore about trying to contact Y/n?" I sighed at her question but responded anyway.

"I don't know Lizzie. The more I think about it, the crazier I feel. This isn't some movie where I can rock up at her door and confess that I like her. I don't even know if I'm ready yet for that myself." Shaking my head, I drop eye contact with Lizzie but she reaches out to grab my hand.
