Chapter 53 - Paying a debt

Y/n's POV:

Ava was currently running around the apartment singing 'Be our guest' at the top of her lungs. She's in a hyper, excited mood, and trying to get her ready for her trip to the theatre with Lizzie was near impossible. "Ava! Please, you need to have a bath and get ready before Lizzie is here." I plead but she's too busy running around. I try a few more times but she's ignoring me now and I'm getting frustrated. "AVA Y/L/N!" I shout and she stops frozen to the spot.

She slowly turns around to look at me with a guilty look on her face. "Sorry Mummy." She whispers, her head dropping to the floor, and I instantly feel guilty for yelling. "That's ok bug. You just need to listen to me when I'm talking to you ok." I say calmly and walk over to stand in front of her. "I know that you're excited, but you won't be able to go if you're not ready. Ok?" I explain and she nods. "Will you sing with me in the bath?" She asks shyly. "Of course, bug! Come on let's go."

We sing along to some of the songs from Beauty and Beast whilst Ava gets ready. She is wearing a cute little dress as she wanted to be fancy for the theatre. I've thrown together an over night bag as they have plans for a sleep over after. When Ava is all dressed and ready, I smile at how she looks. "You look beautiful bug." I say with complete honesty and full of love. I pull my phone out of my back pocket and she poses so I can take a photo of her. This might be my new lock screen.

We're interrupted by a knock at the door. I get off my knees and make my way to hallway to open it, greeted by a smiling Lizzie. "Hey Lizzie, you look amazing." I said when I saw that she was also in a dress. "Thanks, we're going all out for tonight." She said, pulling me into a hug. I invited her in and her and Ava were like magnets to each other. Ava ran towards her, and Lizzie was quick to pick her up and spin her around. "You look like a princess." Lizzie said and Ava giggled. "Let me get a photo of you both, this is too cute to miss out on." I instruct, directing them to the living room where there is the best light.

They both posed and I got some great pictures which I quickly sent to Lizzie so she could have them too. "Ava, can you go and grab your things please?" I asked and she quick ran off into her bedroom. "Are you looking forward to your date with Scar later?" She asked and I couldn't hide the smile on my face. "Yeah, we've not really seen each other for a couple of weeks so it'll be nice to see her." Lizzie nodded in response with a smirk on her face. "What do you plan on wearing?" She asked.

"I've got some fitted dress trousers and a nice shirt to go with it. Scarlett said she wanted it to have the whole date feel so I was instructed to dress up." I explained. "Sounds nice. I hope you have a nice time." She said with a knowing look on her face which made confused me. "Any time with Scarlett is good." I say with a blush to my cheeks.

Ava had joined us again with her little bag which Lizzie took from her. "Come on then Princess, we better get going." She directed to Ava, holding out her hand. "I'll call you tomorrow to arrange picking or dropping Ava off." She said now talking to me. "Thanks. Have a great time. Be good for Lizzie and I'll see you tomorrow." I said kneeling in front of Ava to give her a hug and a kiss goodbye. "Call if you need anything." I said to Lizzie and pulled her into a hug goodbye.

I watched as they left before starting to get ready for myself. It didn't take me long before I was out of the door. I stopped by the shop to grab a bottle of wine to add to the flowers I had already bought. I also had a small present for Scarlett that I was nervous about giving her. I parked up on her drive and quickly straightened out my outfit before grabbing everything from the car.

I nervously stood on her doorstep and rang the bell. When she opened the door, she took my breath away. She was wearing a flowing white dress. I couldn't get any words out no matter how much my brain was yelling at me to tell her how beautiful she looked. "Hi." She whispered as she lent up and pressed a kiss on my cheek. "Y-you look, just wow." I managed to say, feeling embarrassed that I wasn't even able to form a full sentence. "Thanks. You look great. That shirt really suits you." She said pulling me into her house.
