Y/n's POV:
I'm so excited to spend the day with everyone at the go-karting track. It's a great way to celebrate my first full week back at work. It'll also be nice to spend time with everyone before they all head to Atlanta next month for filming. Ava was at a sleepover last night and Scarlett and I were hoping to get some quality time together. But she ended up being called in to set last minute so she didn't get to mine until midnight.
I told her I could just pick her up this morning, but she was adamant that she wanted to see me. I felt the exact same so was happy that she came over. She was so tired we ended up cuddling in bed and falling asleep pretty quickly. Not exactly how we expected the night to go, but I was just glad that I was with her. However, the pouting I had to deal with this morning though was next level. We slept through the alarm so were rushing around to get ready before we had to leave to get Ava.
It was even harder to get ready when Scarlett refused for a solid 10 minutes to let me put clothes on over my underwear. Not that I'm complaining, I love that she likes me that much she can't get enough, but I knew I could easily be swayed to be late if she tried hard enough.
Thankfully, we made it out the house and were on time to get Ava. The whole car journey was filled with her excited babble about her sleepover with Jayden and his sister. Apparently, they watched Finding Nemo and a few shark documentaries. I think she's found a good friend in Jayden.
The closer I got to the track, I started to get a little nervous. So far only Sophie and Lizzie knew about Scar and me. We had decided to just be ourselves around everyone and let them work it out on their own. But there was still a part of me that was worried about how they would react. I hid how I was feeling from Scarlett as I knew she was nervous also. This was a big step for her.
Although they all knew that there were feelings between us, no one really knew the extent of them. As we drove, I noticed that her leg was bouncing, and I was quick to put my hand on her knee to stop the movement. "You know we can just be friends today. There is no pressure, and I won't be mad." I tried to reassure her. For her she was about to come out to her closest friends who she considers family. I remember when I came out and it wasn't easy. But these guys love her, and I know they'll be supportive.
Scarlett was quick to shake her head as she grabbed my hand. "No, I want everyone to know you're mine. I'm just a little nervous, it doesn't mean I'm not happy. Besides I don't want to have to keep my hands off you all day!" She smirked and I could see her body relax. "Thank you though. I love how caring you are." She said sincerely, bringing my hand up to give it a kiss.
Knowing that she was feeling comfortable, helped calm me down and the excitement came back. This was a competitive bunch, and I knew it was going to be some serious competition. Once we had parked up, I unbuckled Ava who had just woken up, the excited babble had clearly tired her out. She was rubbing her eyes and refused to walk, holding her hands up at me wanting to be carried.
"Ava, you're a big girl, you can walk." I said but she whined. "But I'm tired Mummy. Pleaseeee carry me!" She pleaded, her hands shaking in my direction and her eyes wide. I sigh but ultimately pick her up. I looked towards Scarlett who was hiding a laugh. "Yes, I know. She has me wrapped around her little finger." I responded and she nodded. "It's true. But if you hadn't picked her up, I would have been straight in there." She replied and I laughed knowing that we're both suckers to her puppy dog eyes.
Ava was in my left arm, wrapped around my side, her head resting on my shoulder and Scarlett was quick to wrap herself into my right side. I placed a kiss on her head and wrapped my arm around her holding her close. "You ready?" I asked and she took a deep breath before nodding. She took my hand in hers and we made our way up to the seating area where some of the group had already gathered.
