Y/n's POV:
Sophie was excitedly packing up her bag ready for her spa weekend away. Hannah was on her way over, and me being the kind person that I am, I'm letting them use my new car. Sophie couldn't wait, but she is on pain of death if it comes back with even a scratch on it. "Don't forget that there is a delivery on Sunday. It should be there at..." "10am, yes I know. You've told me 5 times already just this morning." I jumped in to stop her panicking.
She didn't often leave the café with someone who wasn't Hannah, so I was getting every bit of information at least 3 times. "I've got it Soph, I've worked there plenty of times and I've learnt from the best." I reassured her. "You're right. Sorry. I'm just nervous." She responded, throwing in her mountain of swimming costumes. She's only going for 2 nights. I'm not sure why she needs 6 swimsuits!
"Look, just focus on having a relaxing weekend. That's the whole point of it. For the two of you to have time without worrying about the café. Even if it's just for three days. Don't forget your flip flops." I said, pointing to the slip ons she had forgotten to pack into the bag she was zipping up. "Oh shit, thanks."
Hannah turned up and her and Sophie had a moment of squealing between them as they got excited for their weekend away. I grabbed both of their bags and made the way downstairs to put them in the boot (trunk) of the car. When I got back into Sophie's house, they were saying their goodbyes to Ava. I hugged them both and quickly threw the keys at Soph. "Not a scratch." I said sternly and she gave me a mock salute. "Yes Major!" I rolled my eyes and ushered them out of the door so she could lock up and Ava and I could make our way to the café.
We waved at them as they drove off, the music already blaring. "Ok, ready for some breakfast at the café bug?" I asked, taking her hand, and starting the short walk. "Can I have a muffin please?" She asked sweetly. "Of course." I responded easily. Once we arrived, I opened up the café and grabbed one of the muffins that Sophie had made early this morning ready for the morning rush. I sat her at one of the tables and started making a hot chocolate before moving on to preparing the café for opening.
It felt very relaxing early in the café. It didn't tend to get busy until 11ish and the morning was mainly people on their way to work. Being a Friday, I didn't expect there to be too much of a morning rush. Checking that the batches of mixes were ready for when more muffins, brownies and cookies needed baking. I quickly checked that Ava was set up in the corner. She was being picked up by Robert to go swimming with the kids this afternoon before spending the night, so I had stocked her with colouring and games to keep her entertained this morning.
Once everything was ready, I flipped the sign on the door and waited for our first customers to come in for the day. It didn't take long before a steady flow of customers made their way through the café. As it was just me today, I hoped that we wouldn't get too many in one go. After a short busy period, I was taking the time to clear up the tables. I was in the far corner where a group of students had just left. This was the popular spot as it was out of the way from the rest of the café and provide some peace and privacy.
I was shocked when I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I tensed up not knowing who it was until I heard a familiar raspy voice. "You look good in an apron." I turned around to be greet by a smirking Scarlett. "Hi. What are you doing here?" I asked, returning a wide smile. She quickly flicked her head around, checking the surroundings, before giving me a quick peck. "We thought we'd come and grab some coffees before heading to set." She explained, pulling me from around the corner to point to the counter where Lizzie, Tom and both Chris' were stood waving. Ava in a comfortable cuddle with Lizzie.
I quickly tugged her back in the privacy of the little corner before giving her another kiss, deepening it slightly, before moving back to serve the others. "Hi guys! What can I get you?" I asked, before being pulled into a side hug by Lizzie. After I took their orders, I laughed to myself when I noticed Scarlett reappear with her cheeks blushed. I moved easily behind the counter making their drinks. When I first moved over to LA, Sophie hadn't long opened, so I spent a lot of my free time helping her whilst she got staff in and trained.
