Chapter 46 - First Date

Y/n's POV:

"Just breath and calm down Y/n." Sophie said whilst I was pacing in my bedroom. "Sorry, it's just been so long since I've done this. I have no idea what to wear and it just feels like there is a lot of pressure on this." Sophie stood up and stepped in front of me. "As happy as I am to see you walking so easily in that boot now, you've only got 5 days left until it comes off so how about you stop with the pacing." She lightly scolded and I nodded in acceptance and went back to my cupboard.

I haven't been this nervous in a long time. I wasn't even this nervous when I was sat on a plane to Afghanistan. I actually haven't seen Scar since I grabbed coffee with her and Lizzie before they both flew to New York to spend the holidays with their families. It's been over 2 weeks and I miss them both, but I especially miss Scarlett. We spoke pretty much every day. She would tell me all about her family and what she had been up to, whilst I filled her in on the Christmas that Sophie, Ava and I had.
 
But regardless of all of that, I'm stood here freaking out about our first date. I mean it makes sense. Yes, we kissed a few times, but that's it. We both know we like each other but this is a big step. Everything will most likely change after tonight. I just hope it's for the better.

I need to pull my shit together, it's just hanging out with Scarlett, that's all I have to focus on that and what I'm actually going to wear. She said something casual, but I still want to look good for her which is already difficult with this boot on my leg! "Ok, I think I'll go with skinny black jeans, I can wear them under the boot." I start off and Sophie nods in agreement. "Good idea, they make your ass look good too!" She complimented. "Why thank you, now just what top to wear." I said, rummaging through my wardrobe.

I was flicking between my hangers when Ava appeared next to me. "What about this one Mummy?" She said pointing up to a low, white v-neck shirt which had a band logo on the breast. "That's perfect, you can then wear your leather jacket too and you'll look perfect. Leather is sexy!" Sophie jumped in pulling the hanger out and throwing the top at me.

I put the top on and then Ava held up my leather jacket for me which I slipped on easily. I loved this jacket, but I rarely got to wear it with the weather here in LA. I'm still not quite used to the heat, but it's cooler in January so it's a good choice. Sophie stood in front of me and tugged around my shirt and jacket before looking at me directly in the eyes. "Perfect. Butt and boobs on show. Scarlett won't be able to resist you." She joked and I gave her shoulder a quick slap. "Ava is right there Soph." I scolded her, pointing to my little ray of sunshine swinging her legs off the side of the bed. "Oh she's none the wiser." Sophie argued. 

I grabbed some perfume and then made sure that I had my wallet and phone. "Ok I've got everything, now just to wait for her to turn up." I said flopping on the sofa. "Hey! You'll crease the shirt! Sit up straight." Sophie told me off and I was quick to listen. Before I had time to relax though, there was a knock at the door. I shot up and both Ava and Sophie had big grins on their faces. I made my way to the door and opened it to see Scarlett stood in the doorway, a big smile on her face and a bouquet of flowers in her hand.

"Wow, you look amazing! That jacket is, just wow." She complimented and I smiled as I scanned her body and admired the stone coloured, three quarter length chinos and Mulberry mock neck sweater. "You look beautiful Scarlett." I responded easily, almost unable to take my eyes off of her. It took every ounce of me to not lean in and kiss her plump lips. I heard Sophie clear her throat behind me as we were both still looks in each other's eyes. "These are for you by the way." She said handing me the bouquet of lilies. "They're lovely, thank you." I expressed and turned into the apartment to put them into water.

"I can put them in a vase. You two probably need to get going." Sophie said taking the flowers from my hand. "Hi Scarly!" Ava said running over to give her a hug. "Hey my little widow." She responds, holding her closely. "Where are you and mummy going?" She asked, causing me to perk up as I had no idea what was planned. "Well, that's a surprise but I guess I can tell you!" She said before whispering in Ava's ear. "That sounds really fun!" Ava said excitedly. "Hey, no fair." I pouted. "Well, if you hurry your butt along, you'd find out!" She joked and I quickly made my way back over to her.
