Chapter 64 - Jungle Book

Scarlett's POV:

On the journey to the premiere, Y/n held my hand tightly, her leg bouncing up and down. I've never seen her this nervous before. She's normally so cool and collected. I could tell she was actively trying to control her breathing and all I wanted to do was be able to help her, comfort her. "Babe? Everything is going to be fine you know that right?" I asked, gaining her attention.

"I know, I just want everything to be perfect for you." She shares. This is just part of my life, it goes hand in hand with my career. For Y/n, this is all completely alien. "You're going to be standing right next me. What's more perfect than that? It's ok to be nervous, I'd be slightly worried if you weren't. But you are the strongest person I know. You literally get shot at for a living. Just know that I'm so happy that you'll be with me. The two of us together." I try to reassure her. I'm not sure it's working until I notice her leg stop and she turns to look at me.

Her eyes are searching mine, but before I can understand what she's looking for, a smile appears on her face. "Sorry. I'm fine and you're right. I get to walk out there and support my incredible girlfriend." I'm amazed at how quickly she's been able to calm herself. Her eyes are bright again and she takes my hand, bringing it to her lips to place a kiss on it. Her eyes never leaving mine. I really can't wait for everyone to see us together.

As we're approaching the venue, the sound of the crowd gets louder and Y/n's hand starts to shake slightly but she doesn't let her nerves show. George pulls up to the top of the red carpet and I squeeze Y/n's hand to get her attention. "You ready?" I asked and Y/n smiled widely. "Always." She responded. My door then opens and I have to tear my eyes away. Dina is waiting outside the door and helped me out of the car. The dress I'm in is tight it's not the easiest thing to manoeuvre in!

I ignored everything around me as I turned to watch Y/n get out of the other side of the car, George helping her out. He must have made a joke as Y/n's head fell back as she laughed. I couldn't help the smile on my face seeing her like that. As she started to walk around the car to me, I held my hand out for her to take as she reached me. She took it easily and we shared a smile before we started to make out way down the carpet.

The flashes from the cameras were bright, but Y/n kept a smile on her face. My own heart was beating rapidly against my rib cage. This was the first time I was in public with my girlfriend. The first time since I effective came out on Jimmy Fallon. I thought I would feel nervous being here with her with our relationship so open, but everything felt so natural. I had this amazing woman by my side and that's all that mattered to me. It was like this was where I was meant to be, who I was meant to be with.

We reached the photo spot and Y/n pulled away to leave me, but I didn't let go of her hand. "Stay. Let's give them what they want." I smiled and she nodded hesitantly. Her hand slipped down to my waist as she held me close to her. Her hand still shaking slightly.

"I don't know where to look." Y/n whispered to me through a smile, and I laughed. "Start at the left and we'll move slowly to the right, ok?" She looked down at me and smiled. "That's not the left Y/n." I laughed but she just smirked. "Sorry, it's very hard not to look at you when you're looking like that." She flirted and I laughed, as my hand fell to her chest. Y/n was gaining confidence as we moved down, and I was so proud of her. Although I knew how nervous she was, her thumb was constantly rubbing on my hip to comfort me. She knew that her being here was a big deal for me and she made sure that she was supporting me in anyway she could.

After we had had a number of photos taken, Y/n leaves a peck on my checks and steps back to join Dina off to the side. She was holding my bag in her hand, and I could feel her eyes on me. I pose for some single photos before being joined by some of the cast. It was nice to see them as we hadn't seen each other since the press tour.
