Y/n's POV:

"Your scans have all been really positive and shown that both the swelling and the bleeding have dramatically reduced. Overall, your whole recovery has been remarkable. I'm just waiting for the final report from Adam and then I think it will be time to consider letting you complete your recovery from home." Dr Sanchez said with a wide smile.

I turned to see Sophie sat with a relieved look on her face. "I believe you have a session with Adam in two days on Thursday. If all goes well then I reckon that we can discharge you on Saturday assuming that you have no further complications." He goes on to explain. This feels great, just 4 more days and I can finally be home in my own bed after over a month away.

Sophie's grip on my hand was like a vice and I could tell she was holding back tears. "There are going to be some ground rules for you though when you leave. Firstly, you are to be on strict bedrest, except for the exercises that Adam gives you. I know you don't like being dependant on other people, but for the first two weeks you need to suck it up. You'll have an appointment with me after two weeks and we'll move on to the second phase of your recovery. This will be building back your strength and working on your leg. Adam will be doing home visits during this time to help you. I can tell you now that you won't be working for at least another 10-12 weeks. Hey, don't pout." He instructed with a bit of a chuckle after noticing the change in my facial expression.

I laughed but there was a part of me that knew I would go stir crazy not working for that long. "Just think of all the time you'll have for your date." Sophie leaned over and whispered. I swiftly gave her shoulder a punch. "Ow! You telling me you hadn't thought about that?" She continued. I rolled my eyes at her playfully. Maybe she was right. "Well, I'll leave you two to this sisterly argument. I'll check back in with you on Thursday and we'll go over the details of your discharge. Sophie will you be around to discuss her care?" Dr Sanchez asked, turning his attention to Sophie.

She quickly stopped her annoying poking and put on her serious face. "Of course. I'll make sure I'm around." She replied as Dr Sanchez said his goodbyes. As he left, I let out a sigh. "You ok?" She asked. "Yeah, glad to be finally getting out of this place." I said with a big grin. "I'm so happy for you Y/n. Considering 2 weeks ago we didn't know if you were going to make it or not, I'm unbelievably happy to be able to take your ass home. I know I don't often say, but I really do love you, as much as we take the piss out of each other, you mean the world to me and I'm so relieve that you're going to be ok." She said lovingly with tears in her eyes.

I reached over and help her hand. "I love you too Soph. You have been incredible this last month and I owe you everything for how you have looked after Ava. She is so lucky to be able to call you her Auntie." I replied with just as much love. She smiled and quickly wiped her tears. "You know I'd do anything for you Y/n/n. Anyway, I've spoken with Hannah and she's going to carry on doing the bulk of the work with the café whilst I move in with you." She explained, which took me off guard.

She looked at me confused. "Wait you're moving in?" I asked. "Seriously? You need help Y/n, how did you think you were going to look after yourself and Ava when you're confined to your bedroom." She asked with a stern tone to her voice. "I thought we'd eat a lot of take out..." I mumbled. She tilted her head and raised her eyebrow at me. "I thought you said you were working on this. Come on it'll be fun. I can cook and bake for you. I also don't think I'm quite ready to give up seeing Ava every day." Sophie said sounding a little disappointed at the thought of Ava coming home.

"Fine, but you still should go to the café. I know that you've spent barely any time there these last 2 weeks. I'll be fine on my own for a few hours a day. We need to start getting back to some form of normality." I try to negotiate with her, but I know she's better at this than me. She usually just scares me into submission. "Counter offer, I agree to that, but you have to let me help you. And I mean actually help you. Like change your dressings, help with your exercises, all of it and you can't moan." I open my mouth to respond but she gives me her usual terrifying look and I nodded in agreement. Her and Lizzie are creepily alike sometimes!
