Scarlett's POV:
Somehow, even in her unconscious state, the more time I spend with Y/n, the more my feelings grow for her. Which terrifies me. There is still a huge chance that she won't forgive me and any chance I have of trying to fix things would be gone. But at the moment, I was just grateful that she seemed to be getting over the worse of all of this.
It had been two days since her surgery on her leg and we were still waiting anxiously for her to wake up. This was probably the worst part. Waiting. Sophie had sent Ava back to school, much to her dismay. But whilst Y/n was still unconscious, she felt like it was best that Ava had as much normality as possible. Seeing how well Ava had coped over the weekend was incredible. She definitely takes after her mom with her strength.
I had been here every day. I had managed to arrange to take this week off from filming which was great as I was able to help Sophie as much as I could. The rest of the cast had to return to filming, but they would visit in the evening or on their lunch breaks which was nice.
Over the last few days, I found that my bond with Sophie had grown a lot. We've spent a lot of time together and we've helped each other through the difficult moments. I feel so comfortable talking to her about my worries and fears and thankfully it seems like she feels the same.
The last two nights we have alternated who stayed over, not wanting Y/n to be alone. The cot they had provided was surprisingly comfy and had acted as a napping station for Ava when she would visit and become tired. We have felt almost like this one big family, all with our own roles to play. Y/n and Ava being the priority.
It was great to see that Ava was more comfortable with Lizzie and Tom again. Lizzie was especially great in keeping her mind off things when she would get upset, which Sophie was so grateful for. Knowing that Ava had support from the rest of us, gave Sophie the ability to also have time to focus on her own feelings which I know she had been pushing down just a few days ago.
Currently, it was just Sophie and I sat with Y/n. Sophie was sat to Y/n's left and I was on her right. Both of us holding a hand in our own. Sophie was telling me a funny story about how Y/n broken her arm whilst at a school summer camp when they were kids. The way Sophie spoke about Y/n, you could tell that she loved her dearly.
Whilst we were calming down from laughing, I felt something in my hand. I looked down but brushed it off before I noticed Sophie doing the same. "Did you feel that?" She asked looking up at me. I nodded. Both our eyes flicked down to Y/n's hands and fixated on it. "Maybe it was just a spasm." Sophie said deflated.
After nothing else happened we carried on talking only for us to feel a stronger grip this time. "Ok I definitely felt that." I said. Sophie stood up and lent over to look at Y/n. "Y/n/n, can you hear me?" She asked, as her hands squeezed again. A huge grin spread across Sophie's face. "Come on, you need to open you eyes Y/n." She said in a stern tone.
We both watched in anticipation. After a minute of so, we saw her eyes start to flicker. My smile now matched Sophie's knowing that she was about to wake up. "Oh, thank God." I almost shouted out. I quickly hit the button on the wall to call in the nurse who came in almost instantly. "Is everything ok?" She asked as she walked in. "We think she's waking up. She's squeezing our hands and her eyes are flickering." Sophie explained. The nurse walked over and checked a couple of the machines and then observed Y/n.
"I think you're right. I'll go and grab Dr Sanchez and we'll get that breathing tube out." She explained before leaving. "I can't believe it. She's waking up." Sophie said excitedly as she gently stroked Y/n's hair, tears starting to fall. My own heart was banging in my chest. She was awake! The happiness I felt in that moment was indescribable. Just knowing that she was here with us after everything she had been through over the last few days. It felt amazing.
