Y/n's POV:

So that wasn't exactly how I wanted today to go. I was angry at myself for pushing to hard and potentially pushing my recovery back. Thankfully, I only ripped a couple of stitches and it looks like I'm still on track. But I'm going to be on my best behaviour and make sure the rest of this recovery goes smoothly.

I had extra incentive now to make sure that I was ready for whenever Scarlett and I have our date. I can't believe that I'm even saying that. Scarlett Johansson wants to go on a date with me. I wonder if things would have been different had we not had that fight or if I hadn't been hurt. As horrible as it all was, would she have admitted her feelings like she has? Or would we have already had our first date?

I found myself repeating the words she had said on that night. "You're a single mom, where the Dad is nowhere to be found and clearly, you're quite happy putting it around." It stings a little to remember it. I hadn't really thought about that night in detail for a while. What feels different this time is hearing those words doesn't hurt as much. All I do is start to think of everything that Scarlett has done over the last few weeks and those words became a muffled sound.

"Y/n? You ok?" I hear a voice off in the distance and it's not until I feel a hand on my knee that I'm pulled from my thoughts. I notice that we're at a stop light and Scarlett's worried eyes are on me. "Y/n?" She calls my name again. "Yeah?" I respond quickly. "You ok? I was calling you. Looked like you zoned out." She asked, starting to drive when the light turned green.

I can't help but smile at her attentive nature. "I'm fine. Sorry. I was just lost in thought." I replied, hoping she didn't probe me further. "Must have been some pretty big thoughts to keep you zoned out like that." I hummed at her words earning a furrowed brown from her, but thankfully she left it.

It wasn't long until we arrived home and I was actually relieved to be back. As we made our way down the corridor, the front door swung open to see a worried Sophie making her way towards us. She was quickly knelt in front of me checking me over, panic on her face when she saw the bloodied t-shirt I was still wearing. "I'm ok, please don't worry." I said trying to calm her down.

She scoffed at me. "Don't worry?! I got a call from Lizzie telling me you fell and ripped your stitches and came home to blood on the floor! I think I'm allowed to be a little worried." She said harshly. "You're right. Sorry. But I'm ok, the doc stitched me back up and said that I'll be fine. I'm sorry for worrying you." I apologised, pulling her back in for a hug. "That's ok. Just don't do that again. I hate knowing you're hurt." She said in a much softer tone this time.

After our prolonged hug, she pulled back and looked up to Scarlett. "Thanks for taking care of her." She said as she accompanied us back into the apartment. "Glad I could help." Scarlett replied with a smile. As soon as I was pushed through the door, Ava was quick to greet us, but she stopped abruptly in front of me. "Mummy, you're home! Are you ok now?" She asked. "I'm doing fine bug. But do you know what will make everything better?" I asked as she shook her head at me. "A hug from you!" I exclaimed. She hesitantly walked closer to me. "You're not going to hurt me bug." I whispered when she was close enough.

My words seem to calm her, and she slowly climbed up on to my lap and I held her close to me. "See, all better now." I said, earning a giggle. "Can we watch a movie Mummy?" Ava asked with a face I can't say no to. "I'm a little tired bug, but we can watch one in bed and then I can fall asleep if I need to. Would that be ok?" I asked, not wanting to disappoint her. She started nodding her head energetically. "We can snuggle in bed!" She said happily as she jumped off to set up the movie.

Once Ava had ran off, Lizzie took her place in giving me a hug. "You sure you're all good?" She asked, with a concerned look. "Yeah, I'm a little sore, but I'm ok. Thanks for watching Ava. I really appreciate it." I thanked her sincerely. "No problem. We went to the park and it seemed to make her feel better. You go relax and I'll get some dinner ready for later." She instructed and made her way back to the kitchen.
