Special Chapter // New Year

▪ This is a special chapter that isn't related to the original storyline ▪

All the lights of 1A's dormitory had long been extinguished and it was dead quiet as the students were fast asleep inside their rooms. You had also been asleep until just a few moments ago but that had changed seeing that you had woken up for some unknown reasons. Once woken up, you couldn't fall asleep anymore and so you remained wide awake on your bed.
You were just laying there without moving much and listening to your own breaths that was the only sound filling the room until a quiet, ringing sound along with a dim light on your desk grabbed your attention. Since you weren't feeling sleepy or sluggish at all, you were quick to react and the phone, which was the source of the interruption of the silence, was in your hands in no time. A text message was on the screen and so you tapped to open it. The message you received read: Are you awake?
Before you could write a reply, another message appeared. Do you want to meet up now?
This time, there was enough time for you to input an answer and send it. Yes I'd love to
And so you two decided for a meeting spot.

Even after he was offline, you stared at the name you had saved the person you had been chatting with just moments ago for quite a bit: Shota❤️
You couldn't help but smile to yourself as you changed your clothes to get ready to go outside.
Just to be on the safer side to not get caught while sneaking outside, you decided to leave through your balcony. You left the window with a small gap in order to get back inside after your outing.
Once successfully on the ground, you wasted no time to head to the meeting spot which was the school gate.

You arrived there to see a silhouette already lingering there. At first, you weren't sure if this really was the right person you had intended to meet up with but just then, they slightly shifted so that the street lamp could catch and illuminate them, making it easy for you be able to identify them. It was your beloved Shota.
Upon seeing him, you sped up your pace and he happily closed you into his arms. "Let's hurry up. I want to take you somewhere." he whispered near your ear and so he lead you to his car and drove to a place that was quite far away. There, you noticed that it was almost on the outskirts of the city and the certain place you followed him to, turned out to be a graveyard. Your face obviously showed confusion but your boyfriend just warmly smiled at you and gently tugged at your hand, which was entangled in his, as a sign to follow him. While walking through the graveyard, a slight shiver crawled up your spine. It could have been the fact that you were visiting a graveyard in the middle of the night but it could also be that the cold air was causing you to simply shiver.
At the end of the graveyard, there where stone stairs built into a small hill and they lead to the other side of the hill, which showed a river. At the highest point of the stairs, Shota stopped and turned around to face the direction you two had come from. "Let's sit down here." was his short sentence as he sat down and you did the same.
Now that your question, which had been unspoken and been on your mind ever since you were inside the car, was still unanswered, you just had to blurt it out now. "What are we doing here?" He did say that he wanted to show you something but sure enough, it couldn't be the sight of the graveyard, could it? But instead of answering your question, he looked at the screen of his phone, which he had pulled out from his pocket, and seemed to check the time. "You'll see." was his 'answer' to your question so you instantly gave up to get something out of him and just leaned against his arm with your head resting on his shoulder. Staying like this, suddenly made drowsiness overcome you but you forced yourself to stay awake. Quite some time passed as you picked up his words: "It should come soon." Since he was staring straight forward, you sat with your back straight up again and also gazed to the same direction Shota did.

Of course you hadn't minded him doing all this to you but at the same time, you couldn't help but feel somewhat strange of what exactly it was he wanted to show you since nothing came to mind what he possibly could have planned ever since you two made your way to this place.
But the question that had been swirling inside your head, finally got released from your mind, once the answer to them appeared before your eyes.

Rays of golden light emerged from the horizon and slowly but surely, something arose not long after those light beams came to sight. You watched as the shape of the sun turned to a full sphere which spilled the glowing lights, showering you with it.
Immediately after seeing this beautiful scenery with your own eyes, something clicked inside your head and you turned to face Shota. So he wanted to watch the first sunrise of the new year together

"Happy new year my love."

To be able to watch the sunrise with Shota, what a wonderful way to start the first day of the new year.

I actually planned to write and publish this chapter shortly after the New Year started but I fell asleep at some point...😅
