~ Aizawa's POV ~

It was the middle of the night. I just came out of the bathroom from washing up and stepped into my room. Upon entering, my gaze immediately fell on the unmoving silhouette on my bed. Even though I was quite tired from all the paperwork I had only just finished up, I couldn't help but crack a smile.
While I was laying down next to (Y/N) and holding her in my arms, I just remembered that she was to get another mission very soon, so I prayed that she wouldn't get harmed while on duty again. To be honest, I didn't like the idea of (Y/N) going on a mission that soon again.
But earlier, when I had voiced my thoughts to (Y/N), I received a scolding from her, saying that I shouldn't favour her just because she was my girlfriend. She also added that I wouldn't cut my other students some slack like I would want to do so with her.
Since I hadn't been able to convince her, I gave up, leaving me with only being able to pray for her safety and I also planned to tell her to be extra careful and try not to get hurt again and again from now on. But I also had to admit that she was right about the fact that I shouldn't favour her so I had to keep a natural mindset like I always did. I just had to be rational at times.

Thinking about (Y/N) being in combat suddenly reminded me of the end-of-term test that had taken place a couple of months ago.

~ Flashback || The End-Of-Term Test ~

This test had been different than the ones we usually held for the first years because it was a combat test against us teachers. Since class 1A has an unusual number of students, (Y/N) had to take the test alone even though they would have taken it in pairs, which we had teamed up beforehand. So since she had been up against me with no partner, half the original weight was added to my restrains when it was the start of (Y/N)'s trial.

When it was finally time for (Y/N)'s turn, I was waiting somewhere in the middle of ground beta. Once the start signal came, I climbed a tall building and had a lookout for my student. It took me quite a while to find her but that changed when I spotted something red in between the buildings. Seeing something unusual, I used my capturing weapon to fling the red thing, which I already figured out to have been made from (Y/N)'s blood, away while I was landing. But that turned out to be a mistake on my part. Because right then, as my feet were touching the ground, I couldn't move anymore.

I was now staring at (Y/N), whose eyes had turned red-violet. And when I saw her glowing eyes, I felt like my breathing also stopped from her quirk for a second. This was the first time I had gotten a clear look of her eyes while she was using her Solidification quirk.
Sure, I had read about her changing eye colour while using her quirk, but seeing it in person was another thing.
(Y/N) was quick. While I was captivated by her eyes for a second, she sprinted and shortened the distance between us in a blink of an eye. Probably to make sure that I couldn't escape or capture her instead if she were to accidentally blink, she jumped me and quickly put the handcuffs on my wrist while I was falling backwards.
Upon hitting the ground, what I felt wasn't the hard concrete on my back. My focus was more on (Y/N), who was now on top of me. Her eyes were closed and with that, her quirk deactivated. But somehow, I felt like I was still paralyzed from her Solidification quirk.
It took me a while to say something. And when I did, for some reason, I could barely hold myself back to smirk as I praised her plan and actions. It was then, that I realised once again that (Y/N) also still hadn't moved yet. And just as I realised that, she stood up and walked away.
My body slowly returned to its normal state, only after a good while though. And so I got up after her and, while hearing the announcement of (Y/N) passing the test, I went back to the bus with her.

While on the way back to the monitor room, I felt strange. It was like an unknown feeling had crept its way into my mind, nestling into it and occupying it. This strange feeling only got stronger when I got flashbacks of the combat battle with (Y/N).
Maybe it was the colour of her eyes that might have caught me off-guard. It kind of was like looking at myself in the mirror while using my quirk but it felt very different at the same time. I thought that it was, because her eye colour was a unique shade of red.
But in the back of my mind, I knew that there was something else that made me feel that way. My eyes slowly wandered to my left arm, where the unusually shaped handcuffs were dangling.

~ Timeskip || 15 Minutes After The End-Of-Term Test ~

Back at the staff room, I sat down at my desk and tapped away on my computer when Hizashi popped up.
"How did the test with (Y/N) go?" he asked. I remembered that he had passed out from his battle because of bugs. Well, I knew that he hated bugs but to pass out from them, and even during combat, was still pathetic. I shook my head in disbelief and simply answered, that it was good.
When Hizashi was gone, I let out a short sigh. Ever since the end of the practical test, I couldn't get (Y/N) out of my mind. My mind constantly drifted back to the time of the practical combat battle with (Y/N).

"How could I get distracted by her eyes during combat?"
Her eyes sure had a unique colour but even without her using her quirk, they were...
"Shota!" I snapped back and was now looking at the face of Hizashi as he rambled something about having lunch. I couldn't really discern what he was talking about but I just agreed in order to shut him up and not mess my already occupied mind up. The last thing I could hear from him was "Then let's go!" And so he walked away with a gesture of his hand to follow him. And so I did just that.

Again.
I was thinking of that time, where (Y/N) was pinning me down once again. I couldn't count the times that had happened anymore. It had been too many times already. And every time they crossed my mind, I felt a tingle in my heart. It was very faint though, so I didn't really pay it any mind. "It's probably nothing serious. Those thoughts will disappear in no time... Also, I probably only worry about her because she's my student."
But oh boy was I wrong about it...

~ End Of Flashback ~

I smiled at myself while shaking my head with my eyes closed. When I parted my eyelid, my vision got filled with my girlfriend's face, who was sound asleep.
I suddenly remembered that I insisted for me to be the person for (Y/N)'s combat battle test during the teacher's meeting about the end of term test. That was because our quirks were working the same way.
Seeing her using her quirk firsthand at that time, made me also realise once again just how similar our quirks were.

I still didn't know why I always had the feeling that I was always more attentive to her than my other students, with the exception of the troublemakers, in my class. But maybe it was because of how our quirks were working practically the same.
And thinking back on it, even though I don't usually believe on stuff like that, it made me think that it must have been fate that we got to meet. I didn't even realise when and how I came to fall for her and I was lucky to have her love me back.
Maybe all the interactions we had had during the first time we had met until we had realized our feelings, made us fall in love with each other. And every time I look at (Y/N), I can't stop thinking about just how adorable and precious she is to me.

I held (Y/N) tighter and buried my face in her hair. The sound of her faint breathing had a calming effect on me and so it didn't take long for me to fall asleep. Though, I actually didn't need to have something helping me fall asleep. But having (Y/N) beside me made me feel more relaxed. And so, I already couldn't wait to start a new day with (Y/N) again.
