Waking up a few days later I went about my morning routine before walking out of my room in black jeans, a half sleeve shirt, and black Daniel Hechter leather jacket.

For once though it was my father and I. Mom had to go deal with something early, and Andrews was given a day off.

As I got to the door, he gave me a look over as he slid on his shoes, from his place on the couch.

"The jacket suits you," he says pushing off the couch and crossed the room to the foyer and opened a drawer before pulling out a key to a Ferrari—one of three he owned.

"You're driving me," it was a statement more than a question but I somewhat failed to not include the lilting rise of one at the end.

"Yes, I wanted to," he said before the doors of the elevator opened with a ping and the two of us stepped inside.

We then both sat in silence down through the elevator ride, he didn't have anything to say or couldn't figure out anything to say and I was to tired to let my brain attempt civility, I was trying though—somewhat.

Walking out the front door we walked down a ramp to the garage where my father walked in opening the door to his Ferrari 599 GTB. Sliding into the front seat he started the engine which roared to life, before pulling out to where I stood and joined him inside seconds before it started to rain. The droplets pelted the windshield distorting the city lights around us. The drive was silent aside from the quiet music my father was playing and the sound of rain hitting the hood and glass which I admit I preferred the latter but I'm weird that way.

Turning away from him I listened to the tapping sound of it beating against the windshield occasionally muffled by an aggravated honk, or the sound of the Ferrari's engine.

I wanted a Ferrari but my parents were practical knowing that a vehicle that was so light and nimble was a recipe for disaster in a learning drivers hands and both had hardships with money coming up to their snobbishly high elite playing field, where I was subsequently placed along side them, so I would imagine I'd be waiting until I was CEO to be able to buy one of the expensive sports car's.

Pulling through the gates of Thornbrook my father guided the car through the long drive to the front entrance and parked along the curb allowing me to get out.

"Have a good day, you might have to walk home today or catch a ride with one of your friends," he says and I nod curtly, before pushing open the door and sliding out.

"I'll figure it out, bye," I say glancing briefly at him before pushing the door shut and walking off along a side path before I saw a silver Porsche pulled up to the curb and Mia and Nico got out.

Standing I waited for them to get to me before I was all but tackled as Riley collided with me and then stepped back looking dazed.

"How the fuck?" he groans staring up at me blinking hard, while I turned back to look at him.

"Have you ever seen Adrian fall over?" Nico muses looking down at the blonde boy who I pulled up off the ground.

"No, and he's built like a fucking rock," Riley whines.

Typical.

"Riley stop fucking whining," I say with an eye roll before walking towards the front door of Thornbrook, Nico keeping pace with me while Riley recomposed himself.

As we neared the wall, I saw Hunter jogging towards us his hair tousled and clothing slightly wrinkled. Honestly how he managed to get away with this so often was beyond me, that and the fact that there was no way in hell he wasn't entirely aware this would catch up to him one day.
