Another party another night. I was of course on my way to go and get completely trashed but a piece of me wasn't fully willing to stay long enough for that. It was the sensible part, the side of me that knew better.

The fuck am I doing?

The drive out to the Rye house was at the very least enjoyable, driving was my sanctuary and I couldn't even deny I enjoyed every second of it especially with music loudly playing from my speakers—attempting to drown my thoughts was more fucking accurate.

Still when I reached the open gates I pulled down the driveway and looped the driveway so that I could be facing out of the party and away from everyone else. That and I wasn't interested in doing a fifty-point turn just to leave one of these pestilential parties.

Lifting the door to the car I slid out before shoving it shut as I walked up the steps of the house dressed in all black as expected with slicked back hair, and smelling like Tom Ford Ombre Leather.

Getting to the door I pushed it open welcoming myself into the usual chaos of the party. Groups of Thornbrook kids had gathered in parts of the living room and breakfast nook, bags of substances resting between them or already cut into lines on the table only to be chased by a shot of cheap liquor and cheered on by their friends.

"Fucking painful," I mutter to myself stepping between two clusters of people and a couple practically fucking in the hallway.

Honestly did you all leave your dignity at the door?

Crossing the floor I turned away from the substance corners spinning the key to my car on one hand and taking in the strobing colourful lights and the balloons and glitter falling from the ceiling or tied at various points around the common areas. Averting myself from the pool area where I was certain there was at least a dozen people all making out with one another, I spotted Sav pouring something from a bottle into a solo cup at the kitchen counter before spotting me and her face lit up.

"Adrian," she says as I pocket my key and stop at the counter before grabbing one of the bottles of Glenfiddich and pulled the cork and poured a fifth of the bottle into the blue solo cup I held.

"Sav," I reply looking around once more, "I'm already regretting giving a party another attendance, you don't have a corner that isn't going to require being bleached by morning in this house," I mutter taking a slow sip from my cup since I intended to not get drunk, or even above legal limit since I wished to go home instead of stay the night, if I was here any longer than an hour.

"This has more people than normal for tonight, also there's a game going downstairs I'm coming down to play," she says picking up her cup which I could tell was banana rum.

"I suppose I'll go see the chaos," I mutter with a sigh, deciding it was better than being up here where people seemed incapable of not exchanging bodily fluid, before turning and walking off with Sav towards the basement. Slipping through the doorway, the shift from light to dark forcing my eyes to adjust as we got about halfway down along with the music change becoming abundantly clear.

Crossing the red light lit room I took a seat in the usual circle while Sav took the spot opposite me next to Monica.

"Hey Adrian," Monica says biting her bottom lip seductively.

"Monica," I reply flatly before taking a sip from my cup and watching the game begin without casting another look her way. I wasn't interested in her from the beginning, and the only way to keep her from looking for a way back in was to make it clear there was nothing to be used.

They were also playing seven minutes in heaven and even though I found this game ridiculously stupid, I had on occasion still played it—another of my many mistakes.
