It was the following night and I stood out along my pool pacing along the warm marble until I got to the end of the pool.

I then exhale once and stepped to the edge before diving in and gliding along through the salt water until coming up to look around and pulling myself to the edge where a glass of Lyre sat on the edge of the hot tub.

My plan was to get myself away as far from alcohol as I could get so that when I only drank water my body wouldn't freak out from the lack of flavour.

The day wasn't particularly gloomy like it had been the past few weeks so it was nice to have sun after the unusual weather.

The boys were also here at my house and had only just arrived to swim in my pool after I went M.I.A for four weeks. I did all the work I just didn't physically go to school and my teachers gave me online tests like our government assessments.

Taking a sip from the glass I set it back down and hauled myself out of the pool, before turning to sit with my feet in the water.

I then watched Riley make a running jump into my pool causing a splash that cascaded water droplets onto Hunter's chest as he followed suit into the pool.

When both came up, I stared at them while they cleared the hair on their faces.

"You two have gotten water everywhere," I mutter moving to sit in the hot tub.

"Oh, have fun Adrian, did a month away mess with you that badly?" Riley asks.

"Hasn't gotten a kiss in a few weeks and now he's day drinking," Hunter muses.

"Shut up Hunter you have a threesome weekly, and drink to forget every girl you sleep with," I quip dryly and watching his face fall before he gave me a defensive look.

"Fuck off," Hunter shoots back.

"Also, just so you know it's non-alcoholic," I muse taking a sip.

Nico then came out on his phone and mildly smiling at something on the screen.

"Nicholas is Adrian drinking alcohol or the one proof stuff?" Riley asks turning to face him.

"One proof, the bottle is sitting out on the counter," Nico replies sitting down in the shade on a sun chair.

"Hmm I don't know he's pushing some things, with secrecy," Hunter remarks.

"Hunter he's always been secretive," Nico defends.

"Thank you, Nico," I call leaning back in the bubbling water.

"Mind explaining why you were unresponsive for a month?" Riley asks looking at me pointedly and I let out a sigh.

"Look what I'm about to tell you stays amongst us got it," I say firmly as I leaned forward on the marble edge of the hot tub.

Looking between all of them I saw the veil shift. They all were occasionally joking and chiding to one another but when it came to how close we all were it was pretty much unquestioned.

"You know Nico won't say a word no matter what, and we won't crack," Hunter says looking between the two others as they all stared at me.

"Since early September I was in a gang to collect information on them, to bring them down," I state feeling like it was the best place to start.

"I worked my way up trying to keep my nose clean once I was in as I was sucked into the paranoid world of the New York underworld. I had nothing to support me and before you all say you would have; I feel like I have to lead all of you so I didn't I dealt with it how I wanted. It was wrong and landed me in trouble so I started working on files on everyone after discovering just how deep I'd gone, I was trying to keep you all out of it so that you wouldn't end up in the crossfire if I ended up in a bad position," I continue.
