When the bell finally rang signally that I had to go to my next class, I begrudgingly headed off to  take my stupid Spanish quiz, I could do it, I just had no wish to do it at all, and had I not had the test today I wouldn't have shown up, but I still had to which wasn't something I particularly wished to be doing.

Pushing open the door to the secret room I pushed it shut, and walked towards my classroom with vague intent to be late by at least a few minutes so I could skip the morning talk and just do the fucking test.

Walking along the sub halls towards the classes I made sure I was both quick and unseen not that it would have mattered people got out of my way anyways so it wasn't top of my priorities to be polite to anyone.

Getting to class I walked across the room to my chair and sat down next to Nico while tossing my blazer onto the table.

"Good morning, Adrian," he says and I glance at him giving a nod as a response before settling in for the test which the teacher was already handing out.

"Winters you're late."

"Yeah, well it's not like you make this bloody course interesting," I mutter under my breath which causes Nico to scoff lightly before the test slid across my desk, and I started on writing out the answers expertly in Spanish.

The school didn't let me take a more advanced version of this course though even then I wouldn't have struggled. Rosenburg was in Switzerland and on Spring break I often went to Spain to visit one of my friend's family who liked me for some reason.

When I flipped over the page Nico glanced at me which I turned my eyes to focus on him as he mouthed 'what the fuck', before I looked down at his own page which was three quarters covered.

"Do better Harrington," I whisper back with a self satisfied smirk.

"You're on," he says and we both raced to complete our test which at the exact same time we dropped our pencils and walked to the front of the class.

"You both can leave," our teacher says and Nico and I collect our things before heading to the door while both of the idiots stared at us in shock.

I didn't want to be here, it shows.

Walking through the hall I pulled on my blazer and went through my work deciding I'd hand it in to get my classes over with for this semester.

"Where are you headed?" Nico asks as we got about halfway down the hallway.

"I need to hand in all this, then I'll probably go home, you?"

"Just might as well go home I have nothing left for today, though Hunter and Riley convinced me to go to a party."

"Whose, Sebastian?" I implore.

"Yeah, I didn't really want to go, but Riley then pulled the I got Mia to agree, and I don't like the idea of Sebastian near my sister without me there."

If only he knew about Hunter's interest.

"The boys wouldn't let anything happen to her and you know that, but I still get where you're coming from trust me, there are some days I half expect to need to fly to Los Angeles to kick the ass of some bastard who touched Kate".

Nico laughs rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"I probably get this protectiveness from being around you all the time."

"There are worse habits you could have picked up off of me," I remark and he just smiles knowing as well as me many of my bad habits, just not all of the bad ones because as much as I trust Nico, I don't wish to include him in my bullshit so why would I put him through that.
