I sat in my room looking out the window as usual. My thoughts running wild like a stampede. I was thinking about how Demetri's comments from the last couple days, and I was only just realizing how they were affecting me, it wasn't well, and I didn't know how to move around it to ignore it. To get past it.

As I finished the homework I had been periodically working on since getting home I slipped it back into my bag and walked over to my bed lifting the mattress to retrieve the book that I wrote out things as I'd recently added a feelings part to make reaction notes as well for effect to trace it back to what caused it and then would add stars to the day or event that something happened.

As I sat writing I watched my phone light up, displaying Demetri's name which I didn't have any wish or will to answer, I didn't feel like getting into an argument and recently that was happening more so why would I allow myself to be engaged in that.

I also was beginning to believe my saving grace for not being fully under his sole control was that I distanced myself from him when things went wrong that even if his words affected me, I still remained independent because I had a good back of my mind worth.

Then my phone lit up again and I saw a message plastered across the screen.

Demetri

Hi, I want to talk
Received 7:03

No reply, nice
Received 7:15

Sorry I was doing homework; I've been taking too many breaks while trying to get it done

Read 7:16

Well, I came over, I was hoping to see you
Received 7:17

You're here?

Read 7:18

Yes, let me in
Received 7:19

I didn't reply, I just stared at the message before looking outside to see his car parked along the curb, with him leaning against it staring at his phone. Pulling the curtain shut I looked down at myself.

A hoodie and comfy shorts, I felt too exposed but if I didn't let him in, he'd freak out at me so I let him in and then change, simple as that.

Rushing downstairs, I got to the front door and opened it to see Demetri standing outside and take two steps up to the door before entering as I moved aside shutting the door and locking it leaving him and I both standing in the darkness of the entryway.

"Hi," I say giving a slightly wave before moving towards the stairs.

"Hey," he says scanning me, before raising his eyebrows.

"A little showy don't you think," he remarks and the comment disturbs me, giving me shivers as the dark look, he had, wasn't helping.

Stupid feeling.

"I feel to open so I'm going to change," I say avoiding his eyes as I pass and rush upstairs then off to my room shutting the door as I did so.

I then walked into the closet and found comfy pants to go with my hoodie before walking out and removing the maroon shorts and tossing them into the laundry basket as the door opened and Demetri stepped into the room.

"The door was shut for a reason," I snappily call hoping it was an accident as I covered my underwear with the comfy pants that had yet to be put on.

"I know why the door was closed," he says shutting it again and walking slowly towards me through the shadows with nothing but the lamp in the corner of the room providing light and even if it was not enough nor in the right place to get around the corner.
