Tonight, was the final day that school would happen for two weeks, and I was driving to a house party in downtown Manhattan at Sebastian Maravich's parent's home.

Pulling up to the curb in my DB11 I slid out of the car and pulled the leather jacket I'd chosen on before the doorman let me in without question.

Crossing the lobby, I stepped into the elevator and pressed the top floor button before the car moved carrying me up higher towards the top where a party ranged.

Another night of turn up.

Letting out a sigh I prepared myself for what I was likely about to face. The swathes of people crammed together using the excuse for dancing to rub against one another, and get wasted. Though I was one to talk—I needed to stop drinking and this was where it would start by denying the stuff the whole way through this party, something I knew I could do, and wanted to.

The doors ding pulls my eyes back up from the floor as I practically willed the doors to not open but none the less, they do and I walk out into the room filled with people.

Why the fuck did I agree to come here?

Heading to the kitchen I grabbed a cup and pulled open the fridge before taking out a bottle of Voss water and filled my cup before tossing ice in it and walked out to the balcony where the pool was and very few other people actually were.

Balconies were just escapes from those inside always were at parties, I then lifted my cup to my lips and took a sip of it.

"There he is," Hunter's voice breaks the silence and I turn to face him and the boys as they walked out into the cold night air.

"Hey mate," Nico says carrying his own cup of what looked like punch as they all neared me.

"Hi," I reply before looking out over the city.

"Yeo, he has a pool out here," Riley exclaims and I break a ghost of a smirk.

"Always has Riley," I answer without bringing my eyes away from the city.

Some people didn't like the views of cities, I loved them. From above they were quiet and filled with millions of lights ones that made me think about how every light represented a person or many. The countless lives of people all doing their best to get by in a city that lacked forgiveness of any kind.

"Well, I need to get wasted," Hunter proclaims and walks off while I rolled my eyes.

And go find your next conquest.

Since I stopped going to parties, I began spending more time alone among my own company which left me with hours of solitude where I could improve myself. I went to Taz's, went on runs, experimented in my kitchen, and in the end told Hunter to come get the rest of my liquor while I was away and when I had gotten back, I was told he'd stopped by.

I needed self improvement and I started to get that as well as I could but still none the less the empty feeling never left, neither did the weight from everything, but I was trying and I hoped eventually it would leave.

"Come on Riley, we'll leave Adrian out here on his own for a bit," Nico says and I hear Riley groan but comply.

"Are you okay?" Nico whispered to me and I just looked at him hoping he could see the pain I kept inside because admitting that there was indeed something wrong, that's the piece I'm still working on.

"Talk when you're ready," he sighs and puts one hand on my shoulder.

"Thanks," I say before taking another sip, and listening to Nico walk inside before the doors were closed.
